Which number I can call? Thanks

I called the standard care number 1-888-211-9874 and said account issue when prompted for a reason for the fall.

It was an act of Congress to get mine extended

All the normal csr people didn’t know what I was talking about and kept trying to transfer me to the wrong people. Learn from me and ask to speak to a manager when the first person picks up the phone

Call this # but push #2 for IHG Rewards desk. They are the department handling this. No need to ask for a manager if you get to the proper desk.

Mine expires 8 Oct, is it too soon to ask for an extension? Would I get 6 months on top of that?

I called & was able to get both mine and my wife's extended for 6 months. The rep deposited a new certificate & expired the current ones.

I tried calling the 888.211.9874 number but could not get through to the Rewards Desk. So I did the live chat instead. When asked what help I needed I typed "live agent" then selected "Rewards Club" when offered a topic, and was put through to an agent in China. He/She knew what I was talking about and within a few minutes had extended my free night from March 28 until Sept. 30. I was told that this had the same terms as the original uncapped night, but there is no language anywhere on the cert to indicate that. Also note that what was done was to put a new cert into the account with the new expiration date, so right now it's side by side with the old cert that will expire in 3 days. One data point: I asked about also extending my wife's free night, which has an April 4 expiration date. I was told to call back April 1, because "Her account can also be extended, but there are still 1-2 weeks before the maturity date, if extended now, it may affect the maturity date." So maybe hers will extend to October? We will see.

Thanks to everyone that posted their recommendations on how to get the extension.

I tried the above live agent method and they gave a 6 month extension to the cert. It was a UK credit card free night, now it says it is a chase free night though. tested and I could still book any hotel (inc over 40k points)

My new cert was in my account by the time I finished my live chat with the agent.

Respect for those who managed to survive Live Chat. My recent experience...

"You are number 5 in the queue"
15 minutes later...
"Sorry this is taking so long"
15 minutes later...
"Would you like to continue Live Chat?"
Why not. I've got nothing else to do.
15 minutes later...
"Due to inactivity we are going to close this Live Chat. Thanks for your patience."
Was I supposed to be doing jumping jacks or something while I waited? Nobody told me!

Re-initiate Live Chat.
"You are number 6 in queue."
I can take a hint. Bye-bye.

Spend 15-20 mins to call IHG customer service , they should be able to do it instantly upto 9/30/20
Not sure if its the same unlimited certificate or limited category.

Tried calling 3 times and every time the rep just tells me "the department that handles this is closed so please call back in a couple days." 4th time might be the charm bit I'm just going with a rep who told me to email the rewards club and they would handle it. We'll see...

I had case opened on 03/15 for my certificate expiring on 03/20, but there was no update on the same. Yesterday I called in the morning (PST) and they extended for 6 months but in the process expired my new certificate which was deposited on 03/21/2020. BEWARE!! Its pain now to explain it to REP that my new certificate is lost in translation. So please check your accounts if the certificate you were looking to extend had expired few days ago before you drop off the call from REP.
