Same here, mine that expired on April 17 reappeared with the same dates as yours.
The original one though was an uncapped night, having been issued prior to May 1, 2019. It appears to have come back as a 40,000-point capped night, with an issue date of April 2, 2020.
The T&Cs attached to it no longer has the wording about certificates issued prior to May 1, 2019, leading me to believe that they consider this a new, capped, certificate.

I noticed that on the website, when I tried to redeem a cert, the same Chase Anniversary Night rate preference code appears in the search field - whether or not I'm trying with the capped or uncapped cert. Led me to believe that the IHG IT is simply not engineered to handle 2 different certificate types (capped and uncapped) since it was technically not possible pre COVID.
So here's the trick that I found made it work: book a dummy night with your capped certificate first, so it's no longer available in your account. THEN, try redeeming the uncapped one and boom, all the properties above 40k are suddenly available. Make your booking, and then cancel the dummy capped night to get it back.

It's a shame that customers are forced to figure out how to accomplish that which the programmers failed to consider, and I'm glad you were successful. Thanks for sharing.

Anyone try yet to see if they will extend them any more than this pretty poor policy did? I really don't see us traveling this year. I guess I could do a road trip somewhere just to get away but really don't see that happeing.

I don't have you beat - but mine was not very good either. December 11th extended until the 31st.

The weeks of being home are just flying by and December 31 will be here before we know it. In the US, my expectation is there will be continued up-and-down with COVID so I probably won't be going anywhere. I wish they could either extend it further or let us turn them into points....

From my chat with IHG on April 17, 2020 - "Upon checking, Chase Free Nights expiring from 01 March 2020 will be valid until December 2020. Your free night will be extended automatically in the following weeks.
ok great so it will happen automatically, eventually? Michelle L.: 09:58 That is correct. It's just being done by the system per batch.

Reward Night reservations may be booked for multiple hotel rooms (up to 9) on the same stay date at the same property, provided the IHG Rewards Club Member number is recorded on each reservation, the required Points are redeemed for each room, and there is available inventory

Does anyone have any intel on whether certs expiring 12/31/2020 might be further extended into 2021? My guess, and reasonable expectation given travel is picking up again, is that they won't, but if anyone has any solid information to the contrary, that would be great to share!

I have a certif expiring 12/31/2020 too and I'm unlikely to be to use it. I queried this with IHG and this is the email response I received today: 'Because of the COVID-19 virus situation, IHG has decided that US/UK Anniversary Free Nights that expire in 2020 after 01 March 2020 will be honored until 31 December 2020 for now. Anniversary Free Nights that are issued in 2020 will be valid for 18 months. We will send out an email notification if the extension will be adjusted at a later date.'
I'm not holding my breath.
