How to post

1. Do not use the "Reply with Review Button" but the regular one

2. Put the name of the hotel in the title of the post and the thread

Yes, as always.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked classic award stay over NYE, received renovated Prestige Suite. Loyalty pays!

How are the rooms?
Very nice, clean and new. The plumbing finally works well! And a new HVAC system. We'll see how it does in the summer, but it is good in the (mild) winter. There are new USB ports all over. And a nice towel heating rack in the bathroom. The bathroom seems all new, with a free standing tub. But I know that there are at least two different Prestige Suite layouts so I don't know if they will all have this tub.

How is the exec. lounge?
Its a temporary club, small, but that is ok since they have only something like 30% of their inventory open. The new club will open at the end of the renovations in about one year from now.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
A lovely notebook, large piece of chocolate with the hotel design, the usual set of fruit, macaroons, cookies, and an NYE special bottle of Brut Rosé from Billecart-Salmon

How was the minibar?
Same as ever. One of the better mini-bars.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
Great upgrade on an award night. An upgrade is normally not included on award nights here, but for regular guests they go the extra mile.
The renovated rooms are excellent.

-Bad
Nothing except we have to wait another year for the renovations to finish.

Value for € or Priority Club Points?
Very much so.

Would you return?
Again and again.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Seriously underwhelming property

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? We booked a city view two queens and received a high floor building site view two queens.

How are the rooms? Like a mediocre Travelodge. Eg the wallpaper was not matched before hanging, torn sheets on the bed on two separate days, one arm chair and a desk chair for three guests, two cups for three guests, Keurig coffee machine, over bath shower with dodgy shower curtain, two robes (one with a hole in the sleeve) and two pairs of slippers for three guests, Agraria amenities.

How is the exec. lounge? Adequate. Light breakfast from 6.30-10.30am. Cookies, cake, fruit and nuts from 12-5.30pm. Cocktails and light bites from 5.30-7.30pm. There was an unusual alcohol arrangement. Draught beer and unbranded wine were available throughout lounge opening hours with branded spirits available on request during cocktail hour. Unfortunately the lounge was noisy and chaotic with small children racing round shrieking like banshees, entirely unchecked by their grown ups who had no concept of indoor voices and were glued to their phones anyway. I watched another guest tell a noisy kid to pipe down but he ignored her. I complained twice and was told that many other complaints had been received.

Did you receive a welcome gift? Welcome points posted overnight. There was a handwritten welcome card from the GM in the room. We received a fruit bowl on arrival, two further fruit bowls on day five, a fourth fruit bowl on day seven and a fifth and final fruit bowl on day eight. We received four bottles of premium (Evian/Badoit) mineral water on the fifth day. On the other days it was just plastic bottles of generic water left by housekeeping when the room was serviced. We were given four x$25 vouchers for the Vistal restaurant when we checked in.

How was the minibar? My kids consumed snacks and soft drinks each day. There was plenty of booze. Nothing to pay at check out.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good Location was fab. We swam in the outdoor pool every day. There was a server dispensing hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows at the Layover Bar next to the pool, which was a lovely touch as the weather was a tad nippy. The gym was excellent. There was a separate studio with eight spinning cycles and a video wall. Dotted around the outdoor areas of the property were several fire pits which were lovely. Daily $25 amenity fee was waived.

-Bad Joke three category upgrade. I complained about this. Poor quality lounge refreshments, I would have been peeved if I had paid for entry. Housekeeping was not well managed. I complained about the torn sheets then later in our stay one of the beds was made up with torn sheets again. I had to call for tea capsules twice as none were left in the room. Dirty cups were left in the room. Turndown chocolates were left on two nights out of eight. We had sufficient fruit to feed a small African dictatorship but only received premium water on one day.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? We paid $953 for eight nights, but used my Ambassador free weekend night voucher and a credit card free night. This averaged $119 a night which was about right.

Would you return? Over my dead body.

Excellent. My second stay here.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked standard with BOGO, received Duplex Suite

How are the rooms?
I stayed in one of these back in August and although not in the same exact room, the room showed no wear and tear. Super high quality everywhere.

How is the exec. lounge?
Also the same as before. It is a rather exclusive lounge as it never seems busy. I saw the mayor of Lyon in there having an aperitif.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Fruit, snacks and a half bottle of Champagne.

How was the minibar?
Same as before. Very good stuff and another half bottle of Champagne.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
Nice upgrade, great service throughout. The asst GM and I remembered each other and had a good talk.

-Bad
Nothing

Yes

Would you return?

Yes, waitstaff, managers, clublounge staff seem to remember us which gives it a homey atmosphere, the resort is a delight to walk around in, the beach and gardens have enough space for peace and tranquility. Most guests seem to be Australian, German, Russian, English, and locals. Renovations did the hotel good!

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
We booked Pecatu suite and we were inegible for any upgrades because the imperial and jivana villa are on the exclusion list

How are the rooms?
The Pecatu suite is on the fourth floor, room #2428.
It is located next to the Imperial villa, from the balcony you can see its pool but also the sea and the resort garden.
At night you can hear the ocean rumble and crickets and frogs singing. The big balcony has 2 sets of two chairs and table. Weirdly enough no deckchair or sunbed.

Upon entering the hallway into the living room, there is a desk to right with international electric plugs, upfront a big L-shaped couch. Next to it a dining table set for 6. The coffeemachine uses Illy cups, water is by Aqua.

The first bathroom has a shower and toilet, the second bathroom has a toilet, a duo shower, a bathtub and duo sinks.
Both bathrooms carry Harnn toiletries of the "Mystique" line (lavender + begramot).

The bedroom has a true king bed, at the nightstand international electronic outlets are available. Bedside water is replenished at turn down service and there is a pillow menu available:

The suite comes with a butler service, you just have to dial B for Butler and he takes care of all your requests. He managed to help us with:

fruitbowl preferred fruits to salak snakeskin fruit and lychee
fresh cut ginger and lemon for a headcold
replenishing coffee all to the black ristretto variety
booking the restaurants
providing assistence in visiting the hotel's medical clinic
pre arranging all bills for checkout at the club lounge

How is the exec. lounge?

The club lounge festures the following food and beversge presentations:

Breakfast has cook to order items, ranging from occidental to oriental flavours. On offer were miegoreng, japanese bento, eggs florentine, waffles and grilledvegtables. Extraordinary delight was the local herbal drink of Jamu.
At high tea a complete tea set was set up with teas from the brand TWG. Each pot containing 3 pours. The food on the set were a good mix of sweets and savouries.
Happy hour or hors d'ouvres used to be a big spread in this club lounge but now has been toned down to brand standard of hot canapés and a small selection of cheeses and crudités plus sweets. The drinks however are stellar, they got an openbar where you can choose any cocktail or alcohol under the sun. Just walk up to the bar in the club lounge and see the bottles on offer.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
A box of chocolates, flower arrangement (loved the fragrant jasmine and sedap malam flowers), a bottle of two islands red wine

How was the minibar?
This is the contents; note snacks, alcohol are all included

What was good and what was bad?

-Good

friendly, friendly staff everywhere (most important with smiles)

Immaculate resort gardens, whoever is doing the upkeep should receive a merit award
Spa massages are really nice as in the massage was really firm pressure so all stress was beaten out
Jimbaran beach is daily cleaned in the morning so less flotsam & jetsam
No touts or hawkers on the beach so great to stroll around
Seafood restaurants left and right of the hotel at the beach
From the left side of the hotel front gate, a big coco supermarket selling all sundries, snacks and drinks

-Bad

Missed the sunlounger on the balcony

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Yes value for money
I made inqueries: a RA reward points stay gets you room only plus late checkout, no minibar, however club access is an exta 100usd++

Would you return?
Booked for family points stay in April and returning myself in July on paid stay
