Upgraded to Platinum but did not know why

I just got upgraded to Platinum status and I'm not sure why. I've only completed about 22 stays this year (I think, might be a little more, but not 40). That's nice, although I'm aware that there's not a huge mark-up moving from Gold to Platinum. This will probably cause me to have lousy Accelerate tasks now!

Guys, do any of you really know if I book a stay and somebody else ends up paying for it, do I still get the points?

Just to give a quick feedback, I called the call center today and said that the stay had just simply disappeared and had even gone to Pending status on my account. The lady found it, credited it to my account and the Accelerate tracker updated itself instantly. My feeling for the future is that it is safer to pay for one's reservations oneself, just to avoid confusion.

There's a bit of confusion here. The first post here refers to me being upgraded to Platinum and not knowing why. The latest on that is following a study of my account it looks like all the points I earned in recent Accelerate tasks (over the last 4 to 5 months) have counted as qualifying points.

The second post refers to a recent stay that I made at the HIX Beijing Airport Zone, where I didn't actually pay for the night upon check-out. The stay then disappeared from my account (usually it shows up as "pending") and a call to the call center resulted in the stay being immediately credited, and all Accelerate tasks being immediately updated.

Sorry for any confusion.

Lucky you. Why didn't you pay for the stay? There is no way for anybody to know who paid unless the hotel sent an invoice to a company or took an imprint of a credit card or something like that. The name on a card is not checked with most online payments.

I didn't pay for it because my partner offered to pay for it, and I accepted without thinking. I had paid a good number of the other hotel stays on this trip, so I thought it was ok if I didn't pay this one!
