Q2 gave me enough points for four nights in Amsterdam next year, so I'm rather okay with the mediocrity this time around.

Existing bookings count right? So no need to cancel and rebook unless wanting to go for the app bonus?
My offer is only 15k double and 8400 points for 2 weekends. I already have an AMB Weekend stay in October, so I guess I need to stay somewhere else a weekend before so that it triggers the doubling.
But these points will only be worth about Ł30 to Ł40; which rules out doing a pure mattress run, so it depends on whether anything fits into my weekend plans.

Definitely a low spender. I have 11 nights with IHG and virtually all of them were to hit accelerate goals. My guess is they noticed I hadn't stayed with them in ~6-7 years then, my activity jumped. Trying to drive business by giving high bonuses...and it's definitely working. I left Hyatt, and have liftetime Platinum with SPG/Marriott, so I'm giving IHG a chunk of business...probably hit ~20 nights this year.

Exactly. If you don't have to hit the threshold in full in order to get the achievement bonus, then this's one heck of a deal. If not, well, I'm never going to spend $1.5k on room rates for 50k bonus points. Not sure if IHG can give any clarification on this matter, as I wouldn't just trust any response coming from their CSRs over the phone.
