Hi again, can see the shell localized web page for IC Sofia but very little detail in there. Anyone have any data...opening dates, format, rumors anything.

What's up with the Intercontinental Sofia?
 

Was looking for a room in the fall, but the hotel seems to have nothing available over a wide range of dates. What is going on?

a)Hotel Pic on search results has banner over picture saying "Opening Soon!"
b)Hotel available dates shows zero availability BUT also legend "Rooms Not Available Until Jan 31, 2018", ie the planned opening date as of now (which may change to earlier or later date)

Bookings are open as from first of March 2018

I passed by today, looks like the refurbishment is in progress :) There is an announcement at the entrance that the hotel is currently closed for reconstruction and rebranding. The opening date is still to be confirmed (as per the announcement).

The opening date is pushed back even further. Just received a call that they're unable to honor my reservation on March 1st.

same here. I booked this hotel on 3rd-5th of March and they sent me an email to contact them (I'm IHG platinum).Not really a great start, I was organizing the trip to see Sofia again just for the hotel opening.
DId they offer you any kind of "sorry compensation"? I still have to call them

I have a reservation für April 6th, let’s see if they open until then! :) Hope so because it’s a very convenient location for a stopover.

edit: oops, now it says no rooms until April 30 :( I have not been contacted yet. I have a 2nd reservation for April 30 on my way back, maybe it’s the opening day? Would be kinda cool! :)
