Amex FHR bookings and IHG points

Has anyone had any recent experiance? I know there have been conflicting reports in the past as to whether FHR stays qualify or not.

In my limited experience, FHR bookings do accept loyalty numbers and should be eligible for points and whatnot. Non-FHR bookings through Amex travel may or may not qualify. I can't offer a warranty on this statement, but the nice folks at Amex can answer definitively, I'm sure.

FHR absolutely allows you to enter your loyalty number in the booking. There is a field for it if you book online. Or the agents can do it for you if you call. However sometimes you need to call the hotel chain to ask them to put it in manually if it doesn't show up in your upcoming bookings. I and many other Flyertalkers have done this for years with IHG, Starwood, etc. You can fully stack the benefits, and often get a better upgrade than normal.

In my limited AMEX FHR bookings I’ve never received IHG points for those stays. Always says non-qualifying stay.

Had some mixed experience with IHG and FHR bookings. My recent stay at the Intercontinental Bordeaux was not considered as qualifying, even after talking to them. At least they recognised my IHG status on top of the usual FHR benefits.

Was this a pre paid or pay at property stay?

i would contact IHG to claim the points as they should be qualifying same as if you used Virtuoso etc

It was the flexible rate, which I paid at the property.

Indeed, I will take it up further with IHG.

As far as I remember, I didnít have any issues with my last IHG booking through FHR, but that was some time ago.
