As of May 2018, the IHG Premier and Traveler Mastercard T&Cs have been updated to include Kimpton as one of the IHG flags that are supposed to earn bonus points at the IHG hotel rate. (I have not yet seen anything in writing for the legacy IHG Select card, but I would think the spirit of these changes should apply to the old card.) Unfortunately, many Kimptons are still not coding properly as IHG hotels and charges are posting to accounts having earned 1x points. In these cases, it's necessary to contact Chase (preferably through Secure Messaging) and ask them to make a manual adjustment.

Very annoying that most Kimpton stays do not post correctly on the IHG card. I've had stays at various Kimptons and have had to to email Chase every time to request the additional/proper amount of points be credited. How long is it going to take for them to get it right without our having to spend extra time asking Chase to fix each Kimpton stay.

no 5x points for the hotel monaco in philly booked early june. and the charge did not trigger my accelerate bonus for using the IHG card to pay for a stay

Recently, I was pleasantly surprised to see that my meal at a Kimpton restaurant, where I was not a guest, earned 5x; I went there fully expecting 2x instead.

Will be staying in Grand Cayman next week for 5 nights and sure hope I get the same results!!
