Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Meh.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
2 stays inside one week. Booked cheapest, received club room on club floor (looks like a regular room with a nespresso machine)

How are the rooms?
Tired. Lots of things broken.
One room for example had a broken doorlock (did not close), broken fixtures at the bathtub, damaged furnuture. The other had a non working drain in the sink, a broken safe. One of the two rooms was extremely dusty.

How is the exec. lounge?
Weird. It consists of two balconies off the hallway and reception desk just in front of the elevators.
Food quality is lousy and very limited. For happy hour the have a few canapes and if you know (they never will tell you) you can order some warm food (mainly inedible) which they bring from downstairs.
One of the attendants there is very nice, receptionist was inefficient (despite mentioning that we need late checkout key stopped working at noon, everything took forever - 15 min for checking out despite nobody else being there)

Did you receive a welcome gift?
One time some white paste with nuts, second time a small towel and some cookies in a box. Fruit plate, 1 bottle of water

How was the minibar?
Average. Not enough water

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
- next to a huge shopping mall
- free shuttle to/from Gautrain station

-Bad
- condition of the rooms
- upgrade
- food in club
- breakfast in main restaurant (selection, quality)

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
It is a bit expensive for what they offer

Would you return?
Only if I need more nights to maintain RA status

How are the rooms?
Room decor is brown and beige but have a nice couch and great view of the beach/sea. Good size. Bathroom with walk in shower and separate bath tub.

Located on 24th floor, friendly staff. Liked the breakfast spread but found the place very crowded and noisy later in the day. Nice views as well.

- Yes, curious to see if I just had bad luck this time. Want to like this property because of the lounge staff and guest relations manager
Your Minibar was empty because it was Shabbat. It is a PITA, but they do it to all the rooms.

IC Park Lane

Were you generally happy with the hotel?
Yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Classic 2 nights Revenue/1 night Points -> Deluxe (2 cat upgrade) for entire stay + all RA benefits all nights

How was the room?
This is an odd Deluxe sitting in the same corner as the x42 Execs. It is quite a bit smaller, but feels larger than other Deluxe due to the layout.
Cool feature is the balcony. Armchair instead of sofa due to less space. Bed was quite stiff. I think I need to make them update my profile to get softer beds.
Superb views over Park Lane, Hyde Park and West London.

How is the exec. lounge?
Probably one of the best? Super attentive staff. Extensive breakfast buffet. Made to order items a la plenty.
Views over St James Park are lovely, and sometimes you catch the Horse Guards Parade on their way down to salute the Queen.
Champagne hours in the late afternoon/evening.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Fruits, Short Bread Cookies, bottle of water. Replenished.

How was the mini-bar?
Well stocked. Absolut Vodka (which is a bit poor). No more half bottle of Perrier Jouet though. A mini of Moet (bleergh).

What was good?
No complaints! Was hoping for an Exec, but you can't except it all.
- The warm welcome back greet (several staff knowing my name, feels like home)
- RA benefits applied entire stay
- Gym
- Club Lounge

What was bad?
Bed on the harder side.

Value for $?
Yes. Very good as RA. But a factor here is probably that I've been a heavy regular the last 3 years and had sporadic stays the years before.

Would you return?
Can't wait! Next month.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard, received deluxe executive suite

How are the rooms?
Newly renovated. One level below the Presidential Suite, this has a normal club room attached to a huge salon, with dining room table, kitchen, bar, cubby-hold office, and sitting area with a very big screen TV. Two mini-bars. On a weekend rate less than $100 this was one of the best bang for the buck IC stays I've ever had.

How is the exec. lounge?
Great new service program. Good food and drinks, cocktail setup at happy hour that starts at 6pm.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Bottle of decent red wine and fruit.

How was the minibar?
Much improved with red and white wine and beer. But still no hard liquor.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
They said this huge suite was available during my dates so why not give it to me?

-Bad
Nothing

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Awesome value

I am sorry if this is the wrong thread to ask, but I am wondering what the word is on Royal Ambassador qualification. Specifically, what amount of spend, number of InterContinental properties visited, and any other critera are the looking for?

I suspect I will be close to qualifying soon, so I may make a push to do so if it is within reach.

IC HK Grand Stanford

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
more than usual

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
booked standard room and got the rare upgrade to small suite with fabulous view, relatively large bathroom

How are the rooms?
the suite is twice the size of normal room but they are overdue for some refurbishment

How is the exec. lounge?
I always found this lounge more "clubby" than IC HK and with much better views

however I never liked the evening food, rather Holiday Inn-like, though breakfast is fine

Did you receive a welcome gift?
IC - branded cosmetics bag + a bottle of half-decent wine

How was the minibar?
Average, nothing special but they serve Champagne in the Club Lounge

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
rare upgrade
great overall service and RA recognition

-Bad
one of the few Club Lounges that charges you for printing copies over 'x' number of sheets
the internet should be faster

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
IMO best deal in HK if you are an RA

Would you return?
already booked for January 2019

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Mixed feeling. To be honest, could be better.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest, Received Premier Panoramic Room. Originally hotel assigned Premier Lake View Room, I asked to guest relations much higher categories room, then they changed to this room.

How are the rooms?
71sqm corner room. Both Lake view and Expo Centre view. Round shape large bathtub, Famous TOTO’s Washlet Toilet. No coffee machine. Very specious, but all others are nothing special.

Video of Premier Panoramic Room:

How is the Club Lounge?
Very nice atmosphere, Great view, Great meal offering and presentation.
But staff are not helpful, they could not book a taxi.

What was your welcome gift?
Can of tea leaves.

How was the mini-bar?
It’s a Joke. Alcoholic beverage is the beer only! (Heineken and Tsintao)
Snacks are Snickers and unknown Chinese snack only.

Did you receive fruit in the room?
Yes. But I requested the snacks.

What was good and what was bad?
GOOD
+++ Internet is out of the Chinese Great Firewall. Can access to Google Services, Facebook, Twitter or YouTube.
+++ Great view
++ Club Lounge food offering

BAD
---------- Poor in-room amenities include mini-bar
---------- Very poor English skill and not helpful Club Lounge staff

Value for $ or Rewards Club Points?
Just OK.

Would you return?
Since nothing improved from my last stay, probably I'll go to Crowne Plaza Suzhou next time.

YES, except room brightness.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Club InterContinental Room, Received Club InterContinental Premier Suite on 3rd Floor of Club Building. Originally hotel assigned Superior Suite (with Club Access) on Main Tower. But I rejected it coz it’s inconvenient to go to Club Lounge from Main Tower.

But windows are very small and only 3 in the room, almost no view. it was very gloomy room.

Video of Club InterContinental Premiere Suite:

How is the exec. lounge?
Very nice atmosphere. But junior staff skills have a problem. They are not proactive.
I think food offerings are a little bit degraded from 2years ago.

How was the mini-bar?
Very limited selections. But standard in China Mainland.
Orange juice, Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Tonic Water, Evian, Perrier, Tsingtao Beer, Heineken, Cheap wine(Red and White), Cognac, Scotch, Vodka, Gin. each one bottle.

Intercontinental Paris Le Grand

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Not overly, no.

Not due to the construction but the quality of the room was just horrific for the cost. FYI one of the staff in the Lounge told me that this time next year all the rooms that are currently closed will be open so all the rooms on sale will be fully refurbished. I will gladly return when this is done.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
booked cheapest, received junior suite

How are the rooms?
ugh, tired, old... weird layout. Really quite crap.

How is the exec. lounge?
hmmm it’s ok. I’m not such a fan of the layout down stairs but I liked the upstairs. The food and drink was good enough.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
yeah a little IC branded book on Paris

How was the minibar?
good, small bottles of nice champagne and then 2x Vodka, Gin, Whiskey... good selection really.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good

- fantastic service
- club lounge

-Bad
- wifi
- the rooms really need this makeover that is in progress.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
For what I paid, no.

Would you return?
Ugh, yeah but i wouldn’t be excited to do so...

ca. 50 sqm, high floor, modern design. It felt spacious. Everything is new and very thought.out. Bed was comfortable.

How is the exec. lounge?
Staff is very attentive and friendly, on the 19th floor, also beautifully designed. It was almost empty.
Breakfast: 6.30-10:30/11am. Choice between restaurant & club. I definitely prefer Club.
Tea time: 3-5pm. Offering was decent, little pastries and sandwiches.
Happy hour with light dinner from 6 to 8pm. You may replace a meal easily. Steak, tongue, octopus, mackerel, polenta, sausages...

Decent. 4x hard liqueur, red + white wine, chocolates, nuts, and soft drinks.

What was good?
-Very attentive lounge staff.

Value for $?
Paid about 130EUR/night. I think it is very good value with RA. Would not pay 80EUR for the Best Western Premier.
