Top Of The Mark Sunday Brunch Worth $95.00?
Has anyone been to the Sunday Brunch at Top Of The Mark located at Intercontinental Mark Hopkins? If you have did you feel that the $95 dollars was well worth it? I didn't see any lobsters or the type of champagne served on their menu. For $95 dollars per person, I can go to Sterling Sunday Brunch at Bally's Las Vegas and have lobster and Pierre Jouet Champagne for the same price.
I tried to make a reservation for this coming Sunday, and they want my CC number so they can charge 3 x $95 dollars if we cancel within 72 hours.

If it's a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary, I can see doing it. Otherwise, that's quite a bit of money.

If it is special, go to the supermarket, buy three big slice of US grade prime steak, lots of big claws of crab legs, lots of smoke salmon, juicy vegs and fruits, some nice cheese cake, several bottle of champagnes and stay at home. And if you are in the mood, you can get some caviar too. All for under $150. You will have a much better time than $340 (includes tips) Top of the Mark.

A few years back when I was living just a couple of blocks from there, my parents came to visit and stayed at the Mark. We went to brunch and my impression was that it was just as advertised, which is to say your concerns are totally valid.
You're paying a ton of money for the view. The food and beverage are what I'd describe as "just fine" but you're paying for the view and nothing else.

I stay at the MH regularly.
I also avoid the Top of the Mark except perhaps for a drink as the fog is rolling in.
The TofM feels very different than the rest of the hotel, and not in a good way.
I much prefer the breakfast in the lounge on the ground floor, which I believe is available for purchase as well if you are not in a club lounge room.

Can you elaborate a little on the "different feeling"?
Thank You!

Just an update. While we will still be staying at the Mark Hopkins, I decided to do brunch at the Palace Hotel instead. While a la cart, their seafood platter for two looks so much better than just oysters, shrimp and crab claws at the Top of Marks. We will probably still go up there for drinks though.
