Smoking in a NS room
I have one question. I stayed at the new CP Berlin - Potsdamer Platz this Saturday.
The fire alarm went off at 1:10-1:20 on Sunday and everyone had to evacuated the building. Eventually, there was no fire but it was caused by smoking in a room. People had to go downstairs using stairs, some were holding sleeping kids, the other big bags (yes, you should not take your stuff with you...) in the middle of night. A stupid person caused great inconvenience to everyone.
The hotel is a non-smoking hotel and the person obviously broke the rule. The hotel said that it's not their fault (true) and they take no responsibility (really?). I wonder if the person has been penalised by the hotel such as exclusion from IHG properties or this particular hotel? Or just told off?

Smoking rooms in hotels have smoke detectors as well and smoking doesn't set them off. I've set one off by showering too long with the bathroom door open, though.
