I quietly asked at checkin for my 26th-30th Aptril 4night Kings Day celebration time paid stay, about possibility of also Club Experience on award nights, and instant polite reply was "probably not"

I think the "probably" rather than definite NO, was due to my 60plus nights here as a "repeating regular" and that such decision for me would be at checkin time on an award stay for me.... Maybe a bit like Paris-LG only giving foc Club to their regulars in the past 2years

Small rooms for a fairly new hotel - I guess 30 to 35 sqm.
Comfortable bed
Good minibar and welcome aminities
Small bathroom with shower and tub

How is the exec. lounge?
Very nice setting
Very friendly staff
Extensive breakfast with menu
"Dinner" happy hour with an ok selection of drinks and several main courses and soups to chose from.

- Upgrade on reward nights
- Excellent roof-top bar with top notch service and drinks
- Quick responses to e-mails before our stay

Bad
Nothing

What is your IHG Rewards Club status?

Spire Royal Ambassador

Were you happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes stay is perfect as always. But latest RA upgrade policy is not make sense.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Superior Plaza View Room, received Superior Harbour View Room.

As you guys know since this March, ICHK has been adopted two level RA upgrade policy. After then, some of room assignment became to not make sense. Now If RA book Plaza View Room, will receive Harbour View Room. But now if RA book Superior Harbour View Room, will receive Superior Junior Suite Partial Harbour View or Pool View. It's ridiculous and not fair. I have already have reservation of next Chinese New Year Fireworks day. I booked Superior Harbour View Room to secure the Harbour View. But system already indicated to have been upgraded to the Superior Junior Suite! It's not acceptable. I asked managements to fix this problem.

How are the rooms?
Not too bad. 33sqm and good to see the fireworks. I enjoyed Hong Kong SAR 20th Anniversaries Fireworks.

Video of Superior Harbour View Room

How is the exec. lounge?
Excellent as always!

How was the mini-bar?
Best mini-bar except no champagne.

What was your welcome gift?
NOBU Restaurant signature Ochoko (small pottery glass for Japanese Sake)

Did you receive fruit in the room?
Yes

What was good and what was bad?
Good
Everything except Superior Junior Suite positioning in latest RA upgrade policy

Bad
Superior Junior Suite positioning in latest RA upgrade policy

Value for $ or Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
Yes

What is your IHG Status
Spire RA

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Very

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest on corp rate, got high floor room with lounge access

How are the rooms?
More fake old style (hotel is less than 10 years old) than modern IC standard.
Nice room, but relatively small. Balcony (had to ask for the tool to open the door)
Bathroom with separate tub and shower.

How is the exec. lounge?
Great. Perfect service, selections for breakfast almost as extensive as in the main restaurant.
In the evening they have full dinner with two real main courses and different soups (try the borscht or the mushroom soup). (Good if you are lazy but you will miss out on the many great restaurants in Kiev).

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Yes, a Kiev refrigerator magnet (did not take with me), fruits and water

How was the minibar?
No hard liquor, a few beers, fruit juices and soft drinks

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
- Staff
- Location (lots of things to do and lots of restaurants within 10 min walking
- L'occitane amenities (I dislike the agragrian smell of their regular amenities)
- Daily newspaper of choice from one of the online services

-Bad
Nothing

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
The hotel is fairly expensive compared to the general price level in Kiev, but other 5star places are in the same price range.

Would you return?
Kiev is much nicer and has many more things to see/do as I was expecting. I want to come back to the City and then return to the hotel.

IC Bandung Dago Pakar

What is your IHG Status?
Spire RA

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
mostly

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest, got King Kembang Villa with Club access

How are the rooms?
Relatively big, but workmanship was shoddy. Don't lean against a marble wall - the marble pieces comes off in our room.
Decoration is a bit spartan, quality of the furniture, bedding etc not up to usual IC standards.

How is the exec. lounge?
Top floor of the main building, nicely appointed and great view. Service very friendly, very slow and very inefficient.
Offerings where relatively good.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Water, fruits, red wine, cheese plate and more

How was the minibar?
More or less average

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
- staff was very friendly
- upgrade to a good size villa with balcony

-Bad
- service was spotty and inefficient
- not much in the area except a golf course, need to take taxi into town
- qualitu of building and materials used

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
The hotel is very inexpensive (could be the least expensive IC in Asia)

Would you return?
If somebody forces me to go back to Bandung I would return to the hotel

What is your IHG Status?
Spire RA

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Absolutely

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest, got room on top floor (of the hotel, there are more fllors above) with Club Experience

How are the rooms?
Nice, modern, spacious with good size balcony (some other hotels would sell such a room as junior suite)

How is the exec. lounge?
The don't have a lounge any more. Now they offer a Club Experience, which consists of breakfast in the main restaurant (which is pretty good), coffee and soft drinks during the day. You can order a plate with a few snacks in the afternoon and for happy hour, where they also serve alcohol.
Overall the experience is a bit disappointing.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Bottle of red, water and some sweets

How was the minibar?
Normally very limited, but you can request specific items and they refill for free (sometimes you reed to remind them more than once)

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
- Staff. Friendly, efficient and helpful
- View, pool, location (15 min walk to Cascais), train station for Lisbon between the hotel and the ocean
- Restaurant with outside seating
- not too far from LIS airport (we used suntransfers.com, inexpensive and great service)

-Bad
- Club experience

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Not inexpensive but still good, would be even better with a real club lounge

Would you return?
Yes, this was already our second visit

What is your IHG Status?
Spire RA

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Absolutely

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest, got proper suite, high floor (at the corner of the building)

How are the rooms?
Big living room with sofas, dining table, work desk. Separate bedroom, 1.5 bath
Nicely kept and very comfortable

How is the exec. lounge?
A bit strange. It is on two balconies on a high floor overlooking the lobby area (the hotel is open inside)
Offerings are relatively limited but good quality. Breakfast downstairs in the restaurant has better selections, but is still not up to IC standards in terms of quality and variety.
Service was very friendly and helpful.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Bottle of red, some sweets etc.

How was the minibar?
ok

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
- Upgrade
- Location (just across the street from a major mall
- Free shuttle to the Gautrain station (need to call and they pick you up or deliver you there)

-Bad
- Breakfast in the main restaurant

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Good

Would you return?
Yes, I prefer this over the IC at the airport and with train and shuttle it takes around 30 min extra to get to the hotel

IC Chicago

What is your IHG Status?
Spire RA

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yep

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest, received Grand Tower King Suite
As others have said, the Grand Tower isn't as nice as the Executive Tower, but I've noticed this hotel is not as generous with upgrades during peak times.

How are the rooms?
Suite was comfortable met all expectations.

How is the exec. lounge?
No lounge at this hotel, but they have just started to offer "Club InterContinental" benefits for RAs.
- Complementary breakfast at Center Court
- Free happy hour at ENO Wine Bar during the evening

They also mention special check-in privileges, etc., but this doesn't happen. Join the regular queue with everyone else!

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Large tray of fruit in the room
Bottled water
Two Starbucks drink coupons
Two free drink coupons at the restaurant (Michael Jordan's)

How was the minibar?
Not bad

What was good and what was bad?
-Good
- RA upgrade to suite
- New Happy Hour Club IC benefit at ENO
- Complimentary breakfast at Center Court
- Location

-Bad
- Check-in experience (no separate line or area for RA)
- Staff (hit or miss, but mostly very mediocre)
- Service (bell staff, help with luggage, etc. is useless here compared to Asia-Pacific ICs)
- Business center is not free (no free printing or use of computers, it's simply a small FedEx store)
- Hotel charges to receive a package (e.g. from Amazon)
- No silverware beyond what is provided in the room for the fruit tray... they'll tell you to get plastic stuff at the restaurant
- Ice is only available on one floor of the Grand Tower
- Housekeeping tends to barge in all the time with little notice

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Depends on the season

Would you return?
Yes, I prefer to stay here when in Chicago on business.

Other Notes
I believe the complimentary happy hour at ENO is new as of June (they didn't have this last time I was there in May). It's basically a couple of hours in the evening and they provide a small pre-printed menu of items you can order.

Bubbles - sparking wine (1 choice)
White wine (1 choice)
Red wine (1 choice)

Olives
Cheese selection
Margherita Pizza
Eno Salad

Overall this stuff was okay (nothing fancy) and seems you can order as much as you want. Glad to see IC Chicago implementing new benefits for RAs.

How is the exec. lounge?
Great. Serve Louis Roederer Champagne(same as IC Osaka). Very Spacious.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Daruma san toy. so so.

How was the minibar?
Not bad. 200ml Moet. IC Osaka's minibar is way better.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
Since RA get lounge access, it's the best choice in Tokyo.
2-cat upgrade makes clear about RA upgrade.

-Bad

IC Osaka

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Premium Corner Suite, Received Executive Suite

How are the rooms?
82sqm, very spacious and luxury.

How is the exec. lounge?
One of the best lounge. Serve Louis Roederer Champagne, can order 1 hot food menu during happy hour.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
don't remember.

How was the minibar?
Best!! 375ml Champagne, big bottle of fine Red, White wine, small bottle white wine... you can't drink it all.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
It's pretty new hotel. Nice hardware and service is also above average.
Location is good... and bad.

-Bad
IC Osaka is located in heart of Osaka. But from station to the the hotel, it's pretty far to walk(around 10 mins). Same 10 mins walk for shopping. St.regis or Marriott is better location I think.
If you need to go Kyoto or another province, it's good location because all trains stop here. But if you prefer to go fine restaurants and drinks, St.Regis is better location.
Marriott is located in Tennoji which is just 35mins from KIX by Haruka train. Also great location to shop and go somewhere.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Yes

Would you return?
Definitely

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, I am a big fan of this hotel. I come here frequently

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest, upgrade to an executive suite of some kind.

How are the rooms?
Dated to be honest.
- 2 bathrooms, one Jacuzzi bathtub.
- 2 minibars, well stocked but nothing particularly snazzy inside
- l'occitane amenities
- 2 TV's, sofa's etc etc

How is the exec. lounge?
- Great, good buffet selection in the morning and eggs to order
- never done lunch time so cannot comment
- wine / spirits / beer in the evening. Wine isn't too great quality I must say
- Good selection of food, I will often just eat dinner here.

Did you receive a welcome gift?

- Wine and some fruit and chocolates

How was the minibar?
- Well stocked but nothing great

What was good and what was bad?

Good
- Fantastic location
- Great service, really do try
- It's so cheap!

Bad
- Dated...

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Only ever stayed for $ and it's superb value at sometimes less than Ł100 / night.

Would you return?
Yah
