What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Spire Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Over all is YES, as always.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked the Deluxe Room Received Club InterContinental View Room.

How are the rooms?
49SQM. 45inch LCD TV, Bose surround audio system, Great mini-bar selections (Japanese Ume-shu plum liqueur, Miniature Macallan 12 years, demi bottle of Louis Roederer Champagne, and the House wine was the 3rd label of Chateau Haut Brion, of course full-bottle!)

Video of Club InterContinental View Room:

How is the exec. lounge?
They have done small renovation. Still Keeping best F&B services in Japanese InterContinental. Great Liquor selections in the cocktail time. But presentation was drastically changed. Hot meals need to order from a la carte menu. (Both breakfast and Cocktail time. Multiple or a second order is not accepted ).

Champagne is offered in cocktail time only. All other times offer is Prosecco. And nightcap time newly added (19:30-22:00)

What was your welcome gift?
Full bottle of Louis Roederer Champagne (Coz I'm bi-weekly regular guest), TWG Hotel original blend Tea Box, and Toraya's Yokan (Japanese Sweets)

Did you receive fruit in the room?
Yes

What was good?
Great Fitness room, SPA, and good quality of bath amenities.

What was bad?
Club Lounge new food presentation don't accept multiple or a second order from a la carte menu (and portion is too small!). Prosecco quality is horrible .

Value for $ or Rewards Club Points?
Yes, Absolutely.

Would you return?
Definitely.

Booked cheapest advance rate and received a club InterContinental river view suite

How are the rooms?
Very elegant design
Around 60 sqm

Living room with table, seating area

How is the exec. lounge?
Not massive, but very comfortable
Seating area
Dining area (good breakfast, even if selection at the restaurant is larger; nice hot and cold evening spread).
A fridge would be welcomed to have easy access to soft drinks

What was good and what was bad?

GOOD
- Elegant design of the room .
- Very attentive, smiling staff. Staff clearly has benne very well hired and trained. People are proud and happy to work fot this property. And I love to have a big smile when seeing the staff in the lift and other places of the hotel saying a big : "Hello, how is your stay with us so far?". And the answer is: excellent, indeed.
- Very good breakfast.
- Superb indoor pool
- Not central location, but easy access with the Jubilee line

BAD
- Surroundings of the hotel are not exactly engaging (looks currently more like a construction site/ a parking of a supermarket rather than a luxury hotel): trees would be more than welcomed

IC Bucharest, Romania

InterContinental Bucharest, Romania

What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Spire Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest. At check in they told me that I was upgraded to a suite on a high floor,
I asked about club. Answer: Hotel offers either club or suite. I asked for club instead. At the end they gave me suite and club at no extra cost,

How are the rooms?
Proper suite, a bit dated but nice, One bathroom with a big Jacuzzi bathtub, second room with a smaller bathroom, shower only. 2 TVs, 2 minibars, balcony with great view over the city. They should have a few additional power outlets.
Fortunately no Agraria but l'occitane (one small set in each bathroom)

Gift, Fruits
No gift, no fruits for the first two nights. On thelast night a big fruit plate and a bottle of local red showed up in the room.

How is the exec. lounge?
Good size on high floor, good view. Staff very friendly but not very efficient.
Selections for high tee and happy hour somewhat limited (not enough to make a meal out of it)

What was good and what was bad?

GOOD
- Upgrade to a proper suite.
- Friendly staff, but often not efficient (it seems the whole city is that way at least in my limited experience)

BAD
- hey have a weird keycard systems where sometimes you need to try many times before it opens the door.

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
Good value, yes

----

How to get to the hotel from OTP:
Taxis cost between around 1.50 Lei and 3.50 Lei per km, Airport to hotel between 8 and 20 Euro.

Three choices:
- Exit Terminal, turn left. At the end of the walkway is a queue for the 1.50 Taxis (price is displayed at the side of the car). Seems that the line is usually long.
- Exit Terminal, turn right. 3.50 Taxis (basically same cars as the cheap ones) with no line
- Go to one of the touch screen kiosks inside the building, select Mercedes taxi. You will get a printout with the license plate number and the number of minutes until the taxi arrives. Exit building and wait close to the exit unsil you see your car driving up. Wait time for me was 4 min, nice E-Class, 90 Lei ((approx 20 Euro) to hotel.

IC Mauritius

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Overall yes for what we paid it was a good experience although the food was a bid disappointment

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked basic/cheapest room upgraded to one of the presidential suites. The RA upgrade to presedential suite was confirmed by email before I booked and visible online soon after booking.

How are the rooms?
Spacious with full living / dining room, bedroom upstairs on mezzanine level, and 3 different terraces. Comfortable and spacious but not luxurious.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A - no exec lounge at this hotel

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Yes, chocolate cake decorated with message thanking me for being an IHG rewards member + some chocolates

How was the minibar?
Empty! There was a notice in the room that room service would deliver drinks on request. We did call one evening and there was a lot of confusion about mini bar vs room service and of course the delivery did appear on my final bill. it was removed on request and without any argument.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
Room upgrade to best room confirmed in advance (before booking) and visible quickly on line after booking.
Spacious and comfortable room.
Staff generally very pleasant and willing to help

-Bad
Food; generally in the resort was below the standard I would have expected of a 5 star hotel (Asian restaurant was particularly bad, Indian restaurant acceptable)

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Overall we felt it was good value although not super luxurious and food options disappointing.

Would you return?
Probably not, unlikely that I will go back to Mauritius, and if i do would search for a more luxurious hotel (even if that means paying more)

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest, got executive room (whatever that means) on top floor with club access

How are the rooms?
Well kept, relatively spacious

How is the exec. lounge?
A bit weird. Two balconies off the hallway and the reception desk in the hallway in front of the elevators.
Offerings at happy hour was ok, service was very friendly. Compared to my last visit around one year ago they seem to have cut back the offerings.
Only a few cookies for afternoon tea is disappointing.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Yes, a box with some sweets, a bottle of red, 3 fruits

How was the minibar?
average for an IC

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
- location next to a big shopping mall with restaurants etc

-Bad
- lounge offerings could be better
- breakfast offerings and quality below average IC standards

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
a bit expensive for what they offer

Would you return?
depends

IC Dubai Festival City

IC Dubai Festival City

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
This time not really. It seems that the hotel cut back service and offerings significantly compared to previous visits.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest, at check in they told me I have been upgraded to a suite. Asked for club. At the end I got a bigger room (one level upgrade) plus club access

How are the rooms?
Spacious, but several issues:
- Room was ice cold (15 C). Even after setting the temperature to 27 C the room remained very cold. Called. They promised to send somebody. Noting happened. After 20 min called again. Finally after around 45 min somebody showed up and started working on the AC. After finally almost an hour and chagning several parts it was finally working.
- Drain mechanism in the bathtub was broken
- Instant service sometimes took several minutes until somebody answered

How is the exec. lounge?
Big, nice bit very slow service. Compared to the old days the offering is limited. Seems that they just do the required minimum and nothing above

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Yes, they provided a choice, got an USB stick
According to the welcome letter should have a fruit basked. Nothing in room. Called and asked in the early afternoon. Nothing happened. Finally around 8 pm it was delivered.

How was the minibar?
about average for an IC

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
- Close to airport
- Modern hotel with nice lobby

-Bad
- The walkway to the mall is closed for construction for the last few month, but the signs in the hotel point in the wrong direction
- Instant service not instant
- Room maintenance and long response time to requests
- club receptionist not there before 7am, (club opens at 6:30), no receptionist at the club check in area, finally went to main reception downstairs

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
- Compared to other places in Dubai the hotel is relatively expensive

Would you return?
Possibly, bot not sure

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest for one night only, was able to get a deluxe suite upgrade.

How are the rooms?
Quite a bit different than before of course. The higher end suites are not yet ready, but this suite had a small side room near the door with a microwave. And a nice parlour, very well decorated but with the same old fireplace. The bathroom had a large shower cabin with special amenities unique for this hotel. The desk had no extra power outlets so I had to unplug the lamp. There were interesting books placed on the desk and sculptures on the mantle along with a huge TV that had a twin in the bedroom. The robes in the closet were sumptuous with huge fluffy slippers, larger than the normal IC variety. The sofa could be a full pull out bed for families.

How is the exec. lounge?
Very luxurious with huge high back chairs in front of a giant TV. And a work table that has many electrical outlets. And of course a nice meeting room that all Club guests can book for meetings. Nice spread for breakfast, but as of now they do not do eggs cooked to order. RA's get a discount for Club.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
No, but probably because I switched rooms and checked in late.

How was the minibar?
Taittinger Champagne and all the usual spirits. Sonoma white and an Oregon Pinot Noir. Red Bull, etc.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
The refresh is nice and was needed.

-Bad
There is still a lot of renovation to go. I'm not sure when the hotel will be fully open.
I'm not sure if I understood what I was told, but it may be that not all the rooms will have desks.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Yes.

Did you get the Lounge access free of charge or paid $75? I am now in the hotel, basically no upgrade though they said I had got a "double upgrade" to an executive room.
