Hello all,

I have stayed 60 nights in IHG properties this year, out of which more than 20 nights at 3 different Intercontinental properties.

Do you think if I sign up for Ambassador program now, I will receive Royal Ambassador immediately? Thanks for your kind advices.

I thought it will cost 32,000 points and you would receive 5,000 points after signing up.

Renewal is only 24,000 points. Initial signups are 32,000.

The 24000 points for renewal is normal.I was not expecting a 10000 point cert.Needless to say my wife is delighted.

No additional charge for double occupancy

How does this work? When I book a room for two, the extra person charge is automatically added to the total price and charged to my credit card. Do you have to book a room for 1 person and then show up with 2? What are the rules?

Normally when you booked while being logged into IHG.com the second person charge will have dissapeared from your final confirmation. If not, just mention it at check-in and you will be reimbursed at check-out if you don't have any incidentals exceeding the extra person charge. No need to worry about this, you'll be fine.

I have moved the questions related to the delayed sending of Ambassador and Royal Ambassador Packages to this thread:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/inter...ed-thread.html

Please continue to discuss the delay in sending the packages there.

Thank you

They write about the initial sign up of 32 000 points. But how can you sign up by points? I only see the possibility to pay by credit card..

You seem to need to be actively logged into your IHG account (and presumably have enough points in said account) for the 'pay with points' Ambassador option.

Just tried it with enough IHG points and I do see the option to pay with 32,000 IHG points. ^

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere...

Joined by "redeeming" 32,000 points. Received the 10% IHG Mastercard rebate.

Shows under Activity as: MASTERCARD 10% REBATE-OTHER REWARDS | 3,200 pts.

Does anyone know how long it takes for your status to change from Spire Elite to Ambassador Spire Elite? Is it overnight?
