That is exactly the provision I was referring to. Thanks for clarifying that for me! I am a lawyer, and that phrase is drafted ambiguously-so I wanted to make sure what I was doing was acceptable. So as long as I book the flexible paid rate for the first night (the Ambassador rate), use the cert for the second night, I am good to go? Thanks so much!

Well, you technically book the Ambassador rate for a two night stay. And my recollection is that the total price listed in the confirmation is as if you are paying for both nights. But upon check-in (out?) the hotel acknowledges the certificate and removes the charge for the second night.

Just explaining this because if you do a search under Ambassador rate for a single night I believe you will see no availability. Gotta search for exactly two nights.

And there's an element of ambiguity in your proposed course of action . It's better not to take a freelance approach: use this link to get the Ambassador complimentary weekend-night offer embedded in your reservation:

https://www.ihg.com/intercontinental...d-certificate?

It will select the flexible rate, and show the total for two nights: but the hotel will be fully aware of what's happening, and you'll only be billed for one night if you surrender your certificate.

At some hotels the flexible rate can be a lot higher than other rates available: I benefitted by a princely $50 on a stay in Bali. So it's worth doing a bit of research into the timing, room category and location selected for certificate use - if you have the luxury of choice!

It all worked out well-I have a very nice pool room booked that goes for about $500 with taxes and the resort fee. And yes, I carefully booked through the Ambassador link-I was shocked it showed up in less than 24 hours! Now whether the IC keeps me in that room for another 6 days (2 award nights and 4 nights on points) is another story. But the Ambassador rate is booked at the beginning of my stay-and hopefully, there won't be hordes of people coming because of COVID AND I get to go in spite of COVID. Thanks to everyone's help! Then I get just to try 4 nights on points at the IC Madrid in mid October! That one sounds very posh!

It's old-school Spanish, pretty formal on the surface. One of my favourites, hough I know some folk find it stuffy.

Does anyone know how to see the status of the Ambassador Complimentary Weekend Night evoucher?
I thought I used it but still see the banner on my IHG account.
If I'm not mistaken in the last couple of years with electronic voucher this was disappearing as soon as it's been used.
Thanks

Cancel ambassador?

Is it possible to cancel an ambassador membership for a pro-rated refund? I signed up to renew under the free night promo, but I haven't even been allowed to book a staycation since signing up, and I cannot travel due to quarantine restrictions. I doubt I will see the inside of an IC before summer, if ever.

Always good to read the terms and conditions

3. On purchasing InterContinental Ambassador membership, you agree to, and are subject to, the IHG® Rewards membership Terms and Conditions, which can be found here as well as these terms and conditions. InterContinental Ambassador membership is non-refundable.

That is what I suspected, but I wanted to get some verification from experience. I did not see any comments about this in this thread, which I thought was a bit odd. It was simply a gamble that didn't pay off, which is about as close as I will get to a casino in the foreseeable future.

I am starting to lose track of all the free nights and promos (including the Ambassador BOGO) that I will need to use up in the next 12 months. Given that I will not be allowed to stay in any hotel for at least two more months, it is going to be difficult to take advantage of all of them in time. I was OK with all of the COVID restrictions in CA so far, but losing the ability to even take a staycation or travel from LA to San Diego is really testing my sanity. Looks like I'm going to need find a new hobby that is stronger than rum.

Do Amb benefits (one cat upgrade, 4pm checkout) apply on award nights (points or Chase FNC), and is the BOGO night still good at Kimptons any day of the week?

Yes, AMB benfits apply on award nights.

However, nasty hotels regularly use the availability excuse to cheat you out of these benefits.

With two award nights booked for an IC Ishigaki in July, I am now tempted by Ambassador.

If the benefits are really worth it, I might book 4 more nights at Ishigaki for 150,000 points.

Pay $200 now, and perhaps plus pay $200-300 for a 2-night stay at a later date.

-Free breakfast (for the member only, which is a bit surprising) Complimentary breakfast: One complimentary full breakfast for each night of the stay for the member.
(if you have lounge access for two as well, then the restaurant breakfast for one is not a dealbreaker)
-Club Lounge access (not sure if this too is member only, or for member plus other person/people registered in room)
-Guaranteed upgrade, though that might not mean much given I am Platinum.

I don't have many chances to stay at IC though, perhaps only 3-4 nights in a year, though I could make it 7-8.

Do you think it is worth it? The lounge looks pretty nice on the website. https://www.anaintercontinental-ishi...n/club-lounge/
