Thats a bit strange, how did you ask for the upgrade though? For them to kick you out sounds like you were demanding or screaming at them or something.

Does not round remotely plausible unless OP's behavior was well out of order.

I don't buy this story.

As others posted, more details are needed. At present I am neutral towards this story so far.
