For any IHG property, including the ones listed below, it's a good idea to check the IHG app for additional bonus point packages. For whatever reason, the IHG website does not always include all points packages that can be found in the app.

Points for Elite Status – For purposes of determining Elite status, IHG® Rewards Club points are classified as either Qualifying Points or Non-Qualifying Points. Points earned from Qualifying Rates paid for hotel stays, spend on IHG® Rewards Club credit cards, select partner activity, IHG® Rewards Club Bonus Points Packages, and Qualified Spend through IHG® Business Rewards are considered Qualifying Points and are counted towards Elite status. A Qualifying Rate includes the following: non-discounted rate, standard corporate rate, worldwide sales negotiated rate, national/regional/local government rate and specified leisure rates as confirmed by the IHG reservation system. All other point earning transactions, including points earned from IHG® promotions, Elite status bonuses, activation bonuses or select promotions offered through IHG® Rewards Club credit cards, select partner promotions, point vouchers, point purchases, point transfers, and point deposits, will be considered Non-Qualifying Points and will not be counted towards Elite status.

Are any 10K packages elite qualifying? I know there was a "New Hotel" 10K offer and a Kimpton 10K offer lately. Those seem like the only official 10K packages, and probably all on this list are unofficial and thus non-elite qualifying?

According to the T&C IHG only has 1000-5000 bonus point packages. Elite Bonus points are non-qualifying points.

If you are a business travel and can charge the points package to your company do yourself a favor and do some research. For the state that I work in I went through every single IHG property and wrote down each one that offers the 10k bonus point package. There is 9 in my state. I only stay at those now and I am averaging between 14,000 points a stay and 14,500 points a stay. I am also Ambassador with Marriott and do most of my stays there but try to get one of these 10k packages in each week. Without any accelerate promos I am going to be making just off stays close to 588,000-609,000 points off 42 stays.

You have to make sure that these points correctly post as Elite Qualifying. I have had them post before as non elite qualifying!

Did the chat too and they said the points have been credited after I have explained that they are from bonus points package. They couldn't do it so I had to call and didn't work. Then I tried Facebook messenger and they asked me for an invoice and I took a picture of it and sent it and finally I got it.
It was almost 2 years ago when this happened and I'm traveling on my own dime so it's essential that they are elite qualifying as they are not cheap at all.

All my hotel stays are charged to my company. I would call the hotel and 100% make sure they are elite qualifying before you spend your own money. Try to get it in writing!

I got a confirmation for a HIX in PNW last year but then I was too scared to book it after all the nightmares with IHG - they are certainly not on your side when things go south (not that Starriott is any better these days - I think Hilton is the best right now). Also even if the GM said it's elite qualifying - IHG has the ultimate right to make the point non-qualifying - and what can the GM do? I stayed and got the points - he doesn't owe me anything more. The fact is it never states anywhere that these 10k points packages are elite qualifying in the T&C, and I don't have the capacity to battle with IHG's legal department.
