What is your Priority Club status?

Platinum Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

I booked standard room breakfast flex and at check-in was given 1 king bed suite with separate sitting area and sent complimentary water, 2 cakes (Leipziger speciality) and a fruit plate (bananas, apples, kiwis and tangerines).

How are the rooms?

Rooms were not big but nice, a bedroom and sitting area with a coffee table with two arm-chairs and a working table. The hotel has a free WiFi on its territory which is definitely a plus. The bathroom is heated and you can regulate the temperature. There is also a TV and mini-bar. the hotel is situated just opposite the railway station

How is the exec. lounge?

N/A

What was good and what was bad?

Good - helpful staff at check in; the free WiFi which works well; close to the railway station, main sights and concert house. A very nice welcome

Bad - nothing

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?

Great value

Would you return?

Sure

What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

The stay was OK.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked executive floor and received executive floor. However, I was allowed a 5 30AM check in in lieu of an upgrade.

How are the rooms?

Fairly small, nicely appointed

How is the exec. lounge?
Lounge was well stocked and professionally serviced

What was good and what was bad?

Good:
Attentive staff

Bad:

No welcome gifts, water, etc. Pay per view movies were not working. Breakfast buffet below average by Buenos Aires standards. Hotel is not in a great location, 5 blocks to shopping district, 15 blocks to heart of shopping district. (Galleria Pacific). Concierge was spotty, some great others only seem to know about tourist traps.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

No, too many better options in Buenos Aires

Booked standard room and received Executive Floor Junior Suite.
How are the rooms?

A little old, I believe it is the same furniture as when this property was the Intercontinental, Managua
How is the exec. lounge?
Very large and nicely appointed

What was good and what was bad?

Good:

Value

Bad:

Took two hours and the hotel manager to get a couple of Tylenols sent to the room. Tried to charge me for the upgrade on check out.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Good value, I would return

What is your Priority Club status?

Platinum Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked a club room - received a suite (upgrade on a availability)

How are the rooms?

Rooms are modern with a view of the carpark (they're all like that). A bedroom with desk and CRT TV. A separate sitting area with a dining table plus sofa and with two arm-chairs and LCD TV with BOSE sound and minbar.

Bathroom has separate bath & shower.

How is the exec. lounge?

Club lounge is the most basic I've been in and you wouldn't want to spend too much time in it.

Soft drinks 24hours, wine and beer in the evening, deep fried snacks in early evening. Continental Breakfast Mon-Fri. Breakfast in the main restaurant Sat/Sun.

What was good and what was bad?

Good - Upgrade from Club room to suite, great plat recognition - guaranteed club access, and room upgrade on availability.

Bad - nothing except for the cold design of the bar area.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?

Great value - Ł115 for two nights on the 2-4-1 rate for a suite.

Would you return?

Sure - once a year to visit Marlow

Platinum Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Used points; cheapest room category. Was upgraded to the next category up, which featured a larger room. The room itself was quite large.

How are the rooms?
Rooms are nice, although definitely decorated in a "Chinese nice" kind of way.

How is the exec. lounge?
The hotel has one, but I was not upgraded to an executive floor room

What was good and what was bad?

Good
- Upgraded on a points stay
- Rooms were reasonably nice
- Location is good

Bad
- Crowne Plazas in China typically upgrade members to exec floor rooms
- Lobby of the hotel is a little strange
- Restaurant and bar look awful

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?

Great value, as this was a PointsBreak hotel

Would you return?

As there are only two foreign hotel chains in Changsha (there is also a Sheraton), the Crowne Plaza is plenty nice enough to return. Rates are also usually fairly cheap if one is paying - $80/night or so.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes -- much better than expected based on prior (old) reviews here, and most on Trip Advisor

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked the cheapest available room, and at check in were told we were given a "business suite".

How are the rooms?

Very large, though the layout was a bit peculiar. For example, there is a flat screen TV on a television stand that faces the bed and a recliner; there is a sofa across the room that can't see the TV at all. Table with chairs; a mini-bar stocked with beer, water, etc. (prices were the same as you would pay via room service or at the bar). Nice comfy king sized bed. Toiletries were replenished daily. One wall of windows that let in a decent amount of light.

How is the exec. lounge?
Didn't have access.

What was good and what was bad?

Good:
Given a welcome glass of champagne each at check-in and 2 chits for pisco sours at the bar. Breakfast buffet was included daily (although this was not part of our original rate). Location in Miraflores is great, lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Right down the street from a very nice grocery store if you want to save money on food and drink. Nice bar. Decent work out room; small, but efficient. Nice upgrade. Free wifi. Service was always very quick and efficient. Room service was decent.

Bad:

I had emailed the hotel twice before booking, and neither email was replied to. Otherwise -- really can't fault them for anything.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

This hotel was a bit pricey for our stay and that was why I was hesitant to book, but I feel we got a good value overall. I would return on our next trip to Lima.

Platinum ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked standard, got executive (I was told)

How are the rooms?

Spacious and clean wıth comfortable bed and nice bathroom.

How is the exec. lounge?

No idea.

What was good and what was bad?

Good: Room, friendly staff.

Bad: Slow checkin, and a long wait to do so. There was no note of my status on the reservation, and hence no preparation to upgrade me. At 23.00 the night before a morning flight I didn't care and just wanted to sleep. The front desk wanted to spend time first calling to get me an upgraded room, and then to order fruit for my room. I appreciated the effort to recognıze my status, but felt it was bad judgement to rob me of my already short time for sleep without asking me.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

I will not return.

The hotel is good enough, but the location is bad. It is far both from the airport and the city. The main attraction is the price, if that is low. For an early morning departure a taxi or Havaş bus from Taksim square will be almost as quick as a taxi from this "airport" hotel, especially since there was no taxi nearby next morning. You might as well stay in the cıty.

I doubt this hotel has many return customers.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, very much

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
I booked the cheapest advance rate and received a king bed business room (not facing the busy road, so very quiet).

How are the rooms?
Around 30sqm
Classic/a bit dated design but perfectly maintained
No wifi but one computer with free Internet in the room!!^^
Elegant marble bathroom with the famous Toto automatic toilet and Elemis amenities
Flat screen TV set, large selection of international channels
International Herald Tribune delivered for free every day

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
Good
- Very friendly and helpful staff
- Free Internet and PC in the business room
- Very cheap minibar (actually the price you pay at any convenience store)
- Free bottles of water (renewed every day)
- Welcome amenities (fruits + water)
- Airport limousine bus stop from/to the airport just next to the hotel
- Free shuttle which runs five times a day (did not used it as I wake p to late…)
- Pastries/coffee shop in the lobby

Bad
- Nothing. Location is not an issue (Gireum subway stations on Line 4 is only 10 minutes walk from the hotel, and drives you downtown in less than 15 minutes)

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Great value

Would you return?
Sure
The hotel is not centrally located, but the quality of service makes it all.
In comparison with IC Coex, the hotel is an excellent value (and the rooms have better equipment)

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
No

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard room, got standard room. Queried upgrade possibility and receptionist looked horrified it had not happened and tried to find a free room. The hotel was sold out. I asked to see a manager who confirmed that my status had been overlooked and they could not put it right due to a full house. Offered me a bag of points to resolve which was fine with me

How are the rooms?
English double bed (4'6") clean, crt tv.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/a

What was good and what was bad?

Good
Location is good, it really is 'just off the motorway'
Breakfast was plentiful and very friendly staff
Parking spaces for all even though it was full
Nice swimming pool and friendly staff

Bad
Status not recognised until mentioned even though I had sent my 'I am on my way ' email!
Walls a bit thin, but luckily most residents were considerate

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?

Great value, Ł70 in breakfast for two

Would you return?

Yes, its a place to sleep and break up a long journey

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Very much so.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

I booked standard 2 queen beds on regular rate; when I checked in, I was given a 2 queen bed, 2-room suite upgrade.

How are the rooms?

Nice & historic. The suite has two televisions. The non-bedroom room was huge with sofa, chairs, and kitchenette with microwave & mini fridge. The bathroom was typical, nothing special. Entire suite had classic hardwood floors and tall ceilings.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
Good -Very nice staff at check in; the internet works well; GREAT LOCATION to downtown and the nightlife; and the suite was sweet.

Bad - Nothing to think of.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Great value during weekend stay on standard rate.

Would you return?
Yes, in a heartbeat.

What is your Priority Club status?

Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes, mostly

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

King Executive booked (with points) and received

How are the rooms?

Nice room: King bed, large desk, brown leather convertible sofa and coffee table, large desk, iHome mp3 dock/player in addition to clock radio a great touch. The zebra striped armchair was ... cute.

How is the exec. lounge?

N/A

What was good and what was bad?

Good - Nice staff, platinum recognition of water + snacks in room

Bad - Breakfast cost ($20 with tip, after applying 15% coupon), for not-so-lavish spread.

Neutral - free drink coupon (with restrictions) at Elephant & Castle pub in lobby

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?

Fair

Would you return?

Unlikely

Two minuses: 1) not that convenient to transit (esp O'Hare blue line!) and 2) heavy vibration as though a vehicle were idling nearby (I was on the 35th floor, granted across the ice machine, but doubt that was it).

Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a STANDARD ROOM, got upgraded to an EXECUTIVE ROOM (corner room)

How are the rooms?
Nice, modern and decently sized. Sofa and armchairs with its table in a corner. Work desk next to the large LCD tv. Bathroom with separate bath and shower.

How is the exec. lounge?
Don't know, didn't use it.

What was good and what was bad?
Good
Friendly and helpful staff. Plat recognition. Nice breakfast buffet although choice of food is not the largest I've ever seen.
Bad
The shower kept on flooding the entire floor, don't know if it was badly built or if the pipes were simply blocked.

Misc comments
A bit out of the way if you're in Belgrade for sightseeing. The area is not very nice, with large ugly housing blocks across the street, wasteland and railroad tracks on the other side.
But the Arena is 15 minutes by foot and for that it's very convenient.
Anyway taxis are cheap and will take you to the city centre in 10 minutes.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Good value for me.

Would you return?
If I wanted to be close to the Arena again yes. Otherwise I'd probably go for something closer to the city centre.

So-so.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a 1 QUEEN BED SUP PL WING SMOKING and got exactly that.

How are the rooms?
Worn, oldish and cramped. Dark as well, there wasn't much light coming through.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
Good
Location is OK, subway station is very close.

Bad
Staff a bit clueless and grumpy. Hotel itself could use a refurbishment.

Misc comments
I've read that some people don't like the proximity of the train station, but I found the neighbourhood to be reasonably pleasant, not threatening in any way. Lots of shops, groceries and eateries around. IC Puxi is across the street.
We checked in at 6am but had a room for that night, as our flight was delayed. We went to the first entrance we found, which was in the GW wing. They brought us over to the PL wing in a golf cart.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
OK, room was cheap.

Would you return?
Although my stay wasn't really bad, I think I'd try one of the other properties in town next time.

Oh Yes !

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a 1 KING BED STUDIO POOL VIEW, upgraded to a 1 KING BED VILLA POOL VIEW.

How are the rooms?
Very nice, large and airy. Big LCD tv, sofa (that can be used as a bed for a child), balcony overlooking the semi-private pool beneath. Rain shower, no bathtub.

How is the exec. lounge?

What was good and what was bad?
Good
Everything, staff is adorable, breakfast is awesome, pools are nice, rooms are very comfy, location is great.
Free minibar refill each day (beer, alcopops and soft drinks). Free internet.

Bad
Nothing that comes to mind.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Overall yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a 1 KING BED SUPERIOR, apparently upgraded to an executive room, but no mention was ever made of it. I did ask afterwards.

How are the rooms?
Brand new, nice and comfy. Large LCD tv on wall across from bed.

How is the exec. lounge?
Never used it, who wants to sit around in a lounge when HK is waiting for you outside ?

What was good and what was bad?
Good
Brand new hotel, everything is immaculate. I like the location, close to subway and tram line. Lots of malls, shops and restaurants around the corner.

Bad
Clueless staff, lots of standing around saying yes to everything even if it is obviously no.
There is some kind of club on the top floor, lots and lots of people were using the elevators on friday and saturday night resulting in a long wait time to get back to the room.

Misc comments
I did ask 3 times if it was a smoking room at check-in and was told yes 3 times. When being shown around by one of the staff it was a non smoking room, but they said they would bring an ashtray immediately. They called 5 minutes later to ask if I wanted to change to a smoking room. Why not do that right at check-in ?

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
OK.

Would you return?
Probably, it is a nice place after all.
