What shoreline means is the official Q1 promo. I was also wondering about it, and after some research I've found out that -at least in the last few years- it has left January out, partially or totally:
2011: 3,000 bonus points after every 3rd qualifying night. Up to 30,000 points. 1 Feb-30 Apr.
2010: 1,000 bonus points after every qualifying night. Up to 20,000 points. 1 Feb-30 Apr.
2009: 3,000 bonus points after every 3rd qualifying night. 12 Jan-30 April.
So there's still hope...

FYI, I just got credited for a third 'Get 1,000 Points" Visa promo. Maybe you can get 1K for each different hotel you stay at?

We usually get a bonus points offer every quarter. Anyone seen/heard about the 1st for 2012?

no, there has not been a 1st Qtr. promo point offer OTHER THAN the Stay X Get X....
