InterContinental The Venetian Master Thread (Las Vegas)

This is a thread dedicated to the IC "The Venetian" in Las Vegas. It was created by moving post out of the pre-opening thread. We have decided to create one thread for The Palazzo and one for the The Venetian.

There might be some post in this thread regarding both or the other property. I have not deleted this posts ouf of this thread for a better comparison.

Thank you

I wonder if the $20 ($50?) check-in "trick" would help with a bigger upgrade... or am I just getting greedy now?

Tried to book using BOGO link, no dates in April or May seem to be available. Also attempted to book using Sweet Dilemma Free Nights. Get the same, no dates available for requested dates. Is Las Vegas really that busy, or is the hotel inventory not loaded yet.

I can confirm the RA guaranteed room availability benefit is honored at the Venetian and Palazzo.

After getting passed back and forth between call centers a few times last week, I learned the lowest "guaranteed availability" rate is $950 per night. The quote was for a luxury suite Sunday through Tuesday next week, and there's a big convention going on, but that rate is "prohibative" for just about anyone.

You cannot book with a BOGO or sweet Dilemma coupon. Only 40,000 points work for a free night. At this stage, they are not accepting anything else.

Sorry if this is already known, according to the newsletter from IC just in my box:

Please be aware that all Royal Ambassador member benefits apply at these InterContinental Alliance Resorts with the exception of free internet. Internet is included as part of the daily resort fee.

More details here.

Luxury to Luxury View isn't a two-level upgrade. Luxury has a king bed. Bella has two queen beds. They both have the same square footage. So an "upgrade" from Luxury to Bella is at best a sidewides move. For me it's a downgrade: from king to queen bed.

In the 'realm' of "V/P" a Bella Suite is considered more expensive (an upgrade) from a Luxury (1 King) Suite. In most cases, it is also more expensive to book a Bella (2 Queen) suite. I agree, for most hotels, these would be considered equivalent suites with different beds; but at V/P that has never been the case.

So, in a sense, it is ONLY an upgrade since it is a more expensive suite; and in higher demand (i.e. the Bella is in higher demand than the Luxury). As an aside, I always book my comp rooms as Bella (you get a choice of Luxury King or Bella 2 Queen for comp rooms); since I've had experience that these are in demand more, and I've gotten upgrades to superior suites just because they needed more Bella (2 Queen) inventory.

So is a bump from a Bella to a Luxury View also an upgrade since the Luxury View is more expensive?

Looking at a random date in June the rooms stack like this Luxury (219) -> Bella (249) -> Luxury View (259) -> Bella View (289) -> Prestige Luxury (319) -> Fortuna View (339) -> Prestige Bella (349) -> Prestige Fortuna (439) -> Prestige Siena (619).
