Boat transfer from the Airport is not mandatory despite what any hotel emails might imply to the contrary. It's possible to take the free Air Tahiti shuttle to Vaitape (15 minutes), followed by a taxi to the IC Le Moana for 2000XPF (15 minutes), then the IC's shuttle between Le Moana and Thalasso for 3390 XPF per person one way (updated Dec 2019) (15 minutes). If all transfers go smoothly, the journey could be as short as an hour, or longer than two hours if you're unlucky.

Bus Shuttles between IC Le Moana and Vaitape town:

Depart IC Le Moana:

The bus shuttle costs 1150 XPF RT/person.

Wish it was consistent. I did a test back when we booked this and the rooms did go back into inventory then, but that was also months ago when they probably had more rooms available.

Some hotels will waitlist those rooms for customers. If they come available due to a cancelation they fill the waitlist first.

Call the hotel and ask about and rewards availability. If they don’t have availability I book a refundable room and ask if they will convert to Points if they open up. Results will very

Does someone mind checking a date at the Thalasso for a Chase free night for me please? We have a few nights there but had to start at the Moana due to no availability that night. I don't want to risk canceling the Moana to put the Chase free night back in our account so that it will allow me to search the Thalasso for the same night. Please PM me. Ty!

Edit: never mind, I noticed that One Mile at a Time says if a points room is available, then a Chase free night is "The IHG Card anniversary free night certificate comes from the same inventory as points stays, so if you can redeem points for a stay, you can also redeem this certificate.". Went ahead and canceled Moana and rebooked at Thalasso.

I've never seen this much availability for the last 3 years or so. Wow. I wish I had more vacation time.

Some statistics:

I counted 11 days in February (7), 18 days in March (6), 17 days in April (5), 10 days in May (4) and 10 days in June (5) that became available over the last 2 days.
The numbers in brackets are the longest set of consecutive nights during that month. But interestingly it seems the consecutive nights were mostly not released at the same time. So it is very difficult for someone to book 4+ days together. In the past it was relatively easy to book a week at a time.

I wonder if that is their new strategy to release months in bulk rather than 1 day or 1 week at a time. Or maybe they got told off by IHG that they have to release their reward nights. Over the last few months almost nothing became available, sometimes only 1 night in 1 or 2 weeks.

I am unable to find this much availability. I see a few days in Feb. and very few in March. What am I doing wrong in the search? I select reward nights. Thanks for helping.

There is only one room available per night and once they become available they get booked very quickly. What I listed are all the dates that became available over the last 2 days. What you see are only the dates no one has booked yet.

I have a stay here and Le Meridien - wondering what's the cheapest way to get between the resorts? Wonder if possible to walk between them on the back pier?

Lagoon Service Bora Bora ? Lagoon excursions Bora Bora

If you want to go direct. If you hotel(s) have free shuttle to the Mainland that will be cheaper, but a bit of a hassle.
