I've gone twice, both times in June. For me, it wouldn't be worth going during the rainy season. The whole point of going to BB is to enjoy the beach and outdoors. If it rains everyday or even most days, then BB would be very boring. Wouldn't be worth it to me.

Here right now and it is overcast most days with maybe rain on 5 of the last 8 days but only one where we had rain almost all day. The others were mainly a little drizzle or rain in the mornings. It's actually really hot and stuffy with hardly a breeze. Water is 30 degrees and maybe a little less on a cloudy day.

We were there at end of Sept/beginning of Oct and had 50%+ days overcast and cloudy. We had drizzles here and there and I would say it's not worth it. The color of the lagoon changes to a dull grey and it's just not the same without sunshine/sunny days. It is disheartening to go to sightseeing viewpoints and seeing grey instead of the ribbons of blue you see on sunny days.

BTW, you can book an open-door heli tour if you are into photography.
Just ask
Skydiving feels too much like from a plane, parasailing gives you better views
and you can take your camera with you.
But honestly the best tour is a silent pontoon boat trip. You feel like
floating over the amazing lagoon standing on the boat.
The captain will switch the engine off and it's just pure heaven.
Book all those things direct, will save you 20-30%...

Looks like a lot of rain in Bora Bora for the next 15 days or so. We are supposed to be there January 27 - February 5. Not sure if we should wait and go another time when the weather is better or not. Is there anyone there now that can comment on how frequent it is raining/overcast?

Last night we had heavy rain and today it has been completely overcast but no rain (yet). Mt Otemanu is covered in clouds and has been for most of the last few days. Quite an interesting sight and wonder whether you get your money back if you had booked an Otemanu view room

Is anybody thinking about releasing February 11, 12, 13, or 14? I have the ambassador free night for 13 and 14 thus far and have Le Moana booked on points for the 11th and 12th. Hoping to string all 4 nights together on Thalasso for our honeymoon!

So be careful when trying to drop dates to rebook. There is a definite possibility you may not get them back.

Success!
I have the following stay all booked on points:
• 1/14 IC Moorea
• 1/15,16,17,18 Hilton Moorea
• January 19th Emerald over water villa
• January 20th Emerald over water villa
• 1/21 LE MOANA BORA BORA
• January 22nd and 23rd Emerald over water villa
• January 24th Emerald over water villa
• 1/25 IC Thalasso Emerald over water villa
• January 26th Emerald over water villa
• 1/27 IC RESORT TAHITI
In February of 2015, I booked a single night that was all that was available. I have pieced together night after night over the year. Just today, 3 weeks in advance, another night opened up (1/25) that I switched from Moana to Thalasso. I will keep the remaining night at Moana just to experience it and see what it is like.
Getting close ... just hope we some sun while we are there ;-)
