Several stays as Spire AMB, never received free breakfast, standard 1-level upgrade, 600 points or drink voucher (never both)

You can use your destination fee to get a credit towards breakfast. I still don't believe it covers everything, but that's what you'll get.

But if you stay on points, the fee is waived. Which for me, that was the better deal.

Rates seem to have rocketed here in recent years, then you add on the resort fee, it doesn't seem to be competitive with the other local hotels at all. Usually use my Ambassador cert here, but when one night is still so much, I'll stay elsewhere.

I haven’t noticed that TBH.

their rates fluctuate depending on how busy the city is at any given night/week just like any other hotel there.
I was looking at a night later this month at $189 (not including fees) which seems reasonable (although not sure it’s worth the extra over the $108 the CP want that night), but another date I’m looking at in June is showing $428...

The resort fees are infuriating.

And now the rate for the night I was looking at is down to $121 at the IC, so just $5 difference between them and the CP. Of course the taxes and fees add a whooping $55 to to IC rate and $60 to the CP rate so they are identical at the end of the day

At least at the IC the $30 resort fee includes benefits which could cover the fee (food credit, dry cleaning etc), while the only real benefit at the CP are a couple of drink vouchers which one would get anyway if you have status.

Hi

Stayed here for 2 nights last week as a Spire member. I was offered vouchers or points as usual but chose the vouchers as they offered us 2 (never known that before) but I still got the 600 welcome points credited as well. I was staying on a UK credit card free night and for the 2nd night I used the free night from the recent UK offer where if you stayed 2 nights at a Principle hotel, you got a free night anywhere.

On checkin, I had already been upgraded from a standard room to the Sky view corner room - decent enough (avoid the extortionate mini bar prices though!). Overall, was quite pleased especially considering both nights were free nights and I'm only Spire, not Ambassador.

Internet is down, can't check anyone in or out, nor can people get into their rooms.

Being escorted one by one to their rooms.

Any recent experiences using a Chase FN here? Is the resort fee still being waived? Thinking of a stay here next month to use up my last uncapped Chase FN but won't do it if there is a $30 fee.

Just had a 5 night stay with a mix of chase free anniversary night, points and pai nights, . Was not charged destination on the rewards or free nights. Only on paid night was it charged but came with the $20 bar/restaurant credit. Got a free drink credit, 600 welcome points three times and 1pm late check-out. Platinum Elite only.

Will stay one night with my Chase IHG. Is it possible that the destination fee could be waived?

Hi,

I'm considering using a combination of Ambassador free weekend night certificate, points and UK IHG Rewards Card free nights at this property.

If I use the Ambassador certificate to book a room better than the standard one, will they let us keep it for the rest of our stay?

One of the nights would be 31st December... I reckon in this case we may be asked to change rooms?

Thanks,
