I saw this the other day. I am tempted to bid for a couple since I reckon they will go for (comparatively) modest prices.

The room on auction at the Clement in Monterey is the typical upgrade given to RAs!

Not sure that the Royal Suite at Park Lane can be described as having "palatial proportions" at 135 sq m! It's a decent size, but only about 3-4 x the average hotel room.

Maybe they meant it's the size of a palatial bathroom...

Probably not, and in any case you'd only be looking at 2,000 points per stay (or up to 4,000 with status). The PC point earning structure is awful for high-priced IC stays.

Further relevant question: What would be my two category RA upgrade?

do you think they would comply with at least the one category platinum guaranteed upgrade? assume some of the properties would not have two category above pres suite.

This is the most unusual headhunter approach I ever experienced, however I am absolutely happy with my London based Firm. Thanks for the offer.

I am online bidding on the properties, it wasn't a contrived approach, it was simply that you revealed your profession, we do negotiate great packages... that's our reputation in the market place for books above USD1M GBP 1.5

Exclamation Bids getting very high

I was bidding too, however for several of the properties the bids are getting close to what you'd pay on www.priorityclub.com (e.g. Mauritius) and there's still several days to the end of these auctions, however I guess it's for the good cause of charity!

I have been banned by my wife for bidding on the basis that she doesn't want to take the 2-year old on a plane for the sake of 2 nights.

I was planning to bid up to Ł2k for the Carlton ... wonder if I would have got it for that?
