I received an interesting card in the mail!
I opened my mail this morning and had a thank you card from Steven S. Sickel.

Dear Cred,
Anyone who says, "There's no loyalty anymore." obviously hasn't met you.
I know that you are constantly being courted by hotel brands worldwide--this is not another pitch. Just a sincere and genuine thank you for your continued loyalty to our family of hotels. we beleive that in any language and in any setting, nothing can substitute for a timely and real thank you.
You are among the unique 1% of our top Priority Club members from around the globe. We hope to continually earn your confidence and your business by always treating you with respect and making your stays both comfortable and rewarding. after 56 nights together in 2008, we're getting to know each other pretty well.
Thanks again, and please don't hesitate to let us know how we can serve you and get to know you even better.
Wishing you and yours safe travels,
Steven S. Sickel
Senior VP, Mutibrand and Relationship Marketing

So here are the questions.
Has anyone else received this?
There is no way that I can be in the top 1% with only 56 nights!!
I have not had a stay in the past 90 days as am trying to maintain status with another brand.
What do you all think?

Spot on!
First, correct you one thing - he said 56 nights, not 56 stays as you quoted.
Second, if you did manage 56 nights this year, in terms of RA status, you are among the top 1% customer to IHG.
Finally, it seems they are monitoring your stay. As you said you haven't stayed there for 90 days, so your status on their system is showing RED - means IHG is on high risk to lose a highly valuable top 1% customer, and that's why you had that letter - another maketing tool to convince customers, especially loyal ones to stay with the group.

I received this letter as well, with only 38 nights. I haven't been travelling as much as usual. Typically I'd have 75 nights in by now. My fellow travellers here at work all received it as well. Take it with a grain of salt, imo.

Got mine as well. This is an off year for me with March and most of April home after surgery. So mine came after 41 nights.
One thing for certain, it is as valuable as the ones we got two years ago.

The card
I got mine too and I'm not anywhere near 50 nights. My card said 40. I'm an RA, though, so I think they must be sending them out to all current RAs. Just a guess.

Too bad though, I thought the letter was an early indication of re-qualifying for RA, but from the sounds of it it is probably just marketing.

Welcome to FT and in particular our little part of the FT world. If I had that many stays I would certainly consider contacting IC and seeing what they might offer you. If you dont ask you dont get (Exclusion: unless its about promo codes that your not supposed to get in the master thread.)
regards
