ICs (or other ICHG hotels) with private-pool-suites ?

Coming from a very relaxing vacation at the IC Aphrodite Hills (RA report will follow the next days), we learned how joyful an own private swimmingpool in front of your suite can be.
We became quite used to it and our 5yo son loved it and eventually learned swimming here.

I´m wondering, which other ICHG properties also offer accomodations with a private pool.
This could become a factor for our 2010-vacation decision and maybe it helps other FT-members as well for their planning.

Are there any other resorts?
Any further experiences, if it was worth the additional money or not?

(I´m not speaking of any president suites, which go for 2k bucks a night, but about more or less affordable suites)

I can't think of any. But maybe it's a Grecian thing? Starwood's Blue Palace on Crete also has a lot of deluxe suites with private infinity pools. ^

I think the IC Bali has a private swimming pool in their stop suite(s)?

I often stay in villas in Bali with their own swimming pools, and they're great! If you want to have a vacation outside of the IC change, the Disini Villas in Seminyak Bali are really nice :)

The IC Bali definitely has private swimming pools attached to the Imperial Villas, quite nice as well - though the per night price tag is up over US$1500 a night I think. (and I don't think they'll accidently have them available for points redemption ever again! :D).

The HI Phuket has a nice setup for those staying in the Busakorn Villas. It's a shared pool, but only amongst 20 or so Villa rooms. You basically open a sliding door at the back of the room and there's steps leading straight down into the pool from each room. So not 100% private, but still somewhat secluded, and two thumbs up convinience wise!

Anyone ever upgraded to a pool suite? Any strategy around getting the upgrade?

No, $1500 is not my regular price range, especially if planning for a 2 week vacation :-)

The HI Phuket Villas sound good, though I´m afraid our cheerfully playing little son, shouting in the almost private pool might ruin the privacy for some other pool-user ;-)

It looks like the new IC opening in Hua Hin in December will have private pools in its villas - and at US$500 per night it's a little more affordable (and might be worth checking if there's any way of getting upgraded into one :D).

There are rooms at the Muscat Al Bustan IC with direct access to a pool. Access from the room's ground floor terrace I mean, not by diving from a 5th floor balcony

The hotel also has a terrific "main" pool and its own beach.

In that case, it would have been the James Bond Suite :D:D
