Stayed 2 weeks ago for 4 nights "free" on rewards (25,000 points/night).
On check-in was advised of upgrade to executive room plus as a platinum member either 600 points or club room access. No-brainier... opted for the club room. (Exact same happened last October on previous 4 night rewards nights stay.)
Club Room: breakfast 6am to 10am (very good choice of hot & cold buffet); 6pm to 10pm Italian-type snacks plus wines & spirits; all other times free coffee, snacks (nuts & crisps) & 2 fridges full of soft drinks, water & more importantly beers (Stella, tuborg & carlsberg)
Having club room access saved us a small fortune.... Easily several hundred ŁGBP
We stayed thurs. to mon. & hotel was very busy indeed.

Sounds great that they actually acknowledge the plat-tier! Can't wait to get there on August.

I am using points + USD to book 4 nights and that doesn't include BF. Plus I see many folks in thread getting upgraded to Executive rooms. I was referring to that upgrade. so if your corner room was an executive that thats awesome ..Let me know.

As Plat, always upgraded to executive room with club access.
Club is very nice: hot and cold breakfast, evening options and drinks.

Thanks Nicolas. For evenings would those snacks suffice for light dinner? We eat light dinner at home so wondering about it. Is water and fruits bowl in executive room refreshed everyday?

Still, there are a lot of excellent options is town: try for example the very good Nummer 2 restaurant (menu is not so expensive, and food is great).

There is no fruits bowl in the room (but you can serve yourself at the club lounge; same thing for drinks).

Thanks Nicolas..Good info. This is a naive question but both my wife and daughter can access the club lounge with me , right? ( I am the platinum elite member).
My wife and daughter are vegetarians and I eat only chicken and some seafood. So I am always careful when traveling abroad to make sure our food requirements are met :-)
