It varies by property. Read the RA reports on the properties, as they will often mention what gift they received.

Question about Status

I just got gold, and do I get it for next year too, as I can't really renew it this year...

how did you get gold? (earned it or status match or?)

On a side note, I'm curious why get status in another chain based on your handle?

Your answer is here:

I'd suggest considering putting a little bit of time into reading and learning about the program.

Sweet Willie, the OP just earned Gold on points.

Can't hurt to have a secondary chain (with status)?

What do you mean you "earned w/ points"? Did you buy points? Or earn it one your one stay?!

There was the 5K referral bonus among other promos, I guess.

5K referral + 5K stay 3 nights, get 5K + 3K current general promo (1K/night) + 2500 base earnings estimate + various promo codes

Earning Points

I am new to this, I want to get the Max. amount of points that I can. I have been staying at Candlewood Suites, but now I am staying at the Holiday Inn Express. I am staying Mon. - Fri. each week. I heard that there is different codes and things to get more points with your stay. Can someone please advise? Thanks.

Brian

Ambassador question

If I sign up and pay for Ambassador, how quickly can I expect to receive the welcome kit? and does the free weekend night certificate work with any weekend rate?

Thinking of signing up as joining would be less expensive than purchasing the second night, but my trip is coming up soon.

Thanks

It could take 3 or more weeks for the membership kit to arrive. In addition, the new weekend certificates are only valid with the "Ambassador Certificate" rate (same as best flexible rate) bookable through a special link and rooms using the certificate are subject to availability (new policy). You must also present the original certificate to get the free room night.

If your trip is in the next few weeks, you may be cutting it close.
