Six Senses has signed an agreement to launch Six Senses Residences Dubai Marina.

This further solidifies the partnership that has already launched the Six Senses Residences The Palm, Dubai, which will also be home to Six Senses Place, the first wellness and social club in the United Arab Emirates.

Situated in Dubai Marina, the 251 residences range from 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom residences, 4-bedroom half-floor penthouses, 4-bedroom duplex sky mansions, and 5-bedroom triplex sky mansions.

Targeting LEED Silver certification, all are engineered to promote sustainability, wellness, and happiness, incorporating Sleep With Six Senses bedroom amenities and aspects of building biophilia and classical feng shui. Residents can also choose from bespoke features and personal touches, including a wellness wardrobe stocked with home fitness and biohacking equipment and mood-boosting sensory art.

Layered onto the infrastructure is a comprehensive suite of amenities, occupying a total area of 61,250 sq. ft., spread across four levels, and uniquely themed to promote well-being.

Plans are afoot for a dedicated longevity center combining high-tech science and diagnostics with high-touch services.

Also scoped into the plans are a large gym, cryotherapy and hyperbaric oxygen chambers, a crystal sound healing room, and a spa area with a range of hydrotherapy amenities and a juice bar, a 25-meter lap pool on the Skydeck on the 109th floor.

voco Hiroshima to open in 2027
 

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed its first management contract with Samty K.K. to open voco Hiroshima in mid 2027.

Part of the urban development next to Hiroshima Station, the 301-room new-build hotel will incorporate a design that will allow visitors to feel the history of the area, including a space that embraces Saigoku Kaido, the famous Edo Period highway (1603-1868) on which the hotel stands.

The addition of an outdoor café space where people can eat take-out food, a meeting space for local residents, and a "lively space" where people can wait for a bus are also planned, along with a temporary evacuation area for anyone needing shelter in the event of an emergency.
voco Hiroshima will be the second voco hotel in Japan after Osaka.

voco Seoul Myeongdong to open end 2024
 

IHG announced the signing of voco Seoul Myeongdong in partnership with Gravity Asset Management’s Seoul South Gate Hotel Operations Company and Hotel HDC Co., Ltd.

The 576-room property will be rebranded as voco. It will be IHG’s second voco property in South Korea, following the brand debut of voco Seoul Gangnam in 2022.

Situated at the heart of Seoul's district of Myeongdong, voco Seoul Myeongdong wwill feature an all-day dining restaurant, an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, business centre and an exclusive voco hotels lounge.

Kimpton Lisbon to open early 2025
 

IHG announces the signing of Kimpton Lisbon, the first Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants property in the Portuguese capital. Set to open its doors in early 2025, the boutique luxury hotel marks the second Kimpton to come to Portugal, following the signing of Kimpton Algarve São Rafael Atlántico in late 2023.
IHG operates in Portugal six open hotels and has a further seven in development for brands including Six Senses, Hotel Indigo, and Vignette Collection’s recently opened Convent Square Lisbon and Casa da Companhia in Porto.

Signed under a franchise agreement with Real Hotel Group, the hotel will have 141-guestrooms, restaurants and bars, a rooftop bar and pool.

I've just passed the building with the new Kimpton in Frankfurt again this week and much to my dispair it doesn't look any closer to opening than last summer. I can't wait for the Kimpton in Frankfurt to open but I'd be really suprised if they really open this year.

In a similar move to Hyatt's relationship with Lindner, IHG has just announced a tie-up with Germany's NOVUM Hospitality that will add nearly 120 midscale hotels to IHG's footprint in the next four years, as well as brand debuts for Garner and Candlewood Suites on the old continent; the niu brand alone adds 45 hotels to the Holiday Inn family [some of them look really good and could almost be vocos].

It's always interesting to see new hotels joining the IHG family.

However, when you look at the list of hotels, you get the impression that you have a collection of Mercure hotels from the 1980s in second-rate towns or on the outskirts of larger cities.

The Lindner hotels are in the same spirit (although there are far fewer of them than the Novum hotels).

Holiday Inn & Suites Caloundra Sunshine Coast to open early 2028.
 

IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) announces the signing of the second Holiday Inn & Suites in Australasia, partnering for the first time with Felix Capital to open Holiday Inn & Suites Caloundra Sunshine Coast in early 2028.

Overlooking the beaches of Caloundra, this new hotel will form part of a mixed-use development in the heart of the Sunshine Coast.

The 160-room hotel will include 33 suites and feature an all-day dining restaurant and lobby cafe, meeting spaces, a fitness centre, outdoor pool and Kids Club, a rooftop restaurant and sky bar.
