Advice on IC Bahrain
Evening all .... old age or something but struggling find the latest thread on IC Bahrain. Found an old one but .... help
Have a need to be in Bahrain mid February for an unplanned stay. Regular to most ME IC's but have zero experience about this hotel. Would be really great get some information from experienced folks on the hotel in general .... lounge, pool, rooms, restaurants, the good, the bad and the ugly.
Also if someone can rescue me with links to latest discussion threads please. And how they respond to RA's etc.
And finally any suggestions dining out wise would be interesting as well.
Many thanks in advance
Note to Mods: Understand you may want to navigate this to the main thread at some point. Apols, I've just gone snow blind looking for it. Cheers

This from my stay in August 2021:
Booked a Club Intercontinental King, upgraded to Club Intercontinental King One Bedroom Suite. The room was spacious and clean, the bed was extremely comfortable & had very high quality linens & pillows.
The club lounge was closed (covid) but full breakfast offered in restaurant, all day tea/coffee, afternoon tea & evening cocktails offered in lounge bar/cafe.
I experienced good member recognition, generally excellent service & most staff provided pretty pro-active service too. There was however inconsistent service at breakfast/missing items etc etc.
The hotel is very well maintained but is somewhat dated. Rooms are in great condition & IME the suite we had was very comfortable. The pool is quite pleasant too & we received good service & decent F&B there too.
Can recommend Cut by Wolfgang Puck for dinner, which is located at Four Seasons hotel, a 15 minute cab ride away.
Its a decent hotel but I used a weekend 2-4-1 voucher otherwise its a bit pricey for what it is.

I've stayed at this hotel many times as RA since 2016. Twice during COVID so far, my last stay was for almost 3 weeks in May/June 2021.
There are 2 pools - the one off the mezzanine level is a lot more fun/lively but there are not a lot of lounge chairs. The other pool is accessed through the spa in the Regency Building attached to the hotel. More lounge chairs and quieter. I enjoyed them both when I wasn't working!

And I should say, a first class suggestion about Cut .... is one of my London and Singapore favorites and you can be sure will be on the plan.
Appreciated

Although the reason to go is indeed work related, I'm due a couple of stops here in fairly quick succession. One rather pleasantly during the time of the opening F1 race of the 2022 season which I'm going to factor in. Is strange, I've stopped literally at all the ME IC's many times except this one. For reasons (entirely irrational and with zero reasoning) it never caught my interest and if 100% honest, got other people to deputise for me. I'm beginning to think that has been a mistake. And I which I could say it was the first time!
Thanks for the assessment and will be reading your review right now. Appreciated

Many thanks Nicholas .... that's a deal maker. Photos can explain so much. That's really helpful and very much appreciated.
And to have herringbone parquet floor in-room suggests that hotel had quite an original setup budget in it's day. Very rare now to see that in a more recent generation hotel build.
Thanks again

I´ve managed to book a stay for one night next month with free breakfast for 1 person for about 110USD. I don´t have status with IHG and this was not booked directly from their website although it has free cancellation 10 days before the actual stay. I have also booked for the same day the Hilton Garden Inn using 40K Hilton points plus 50USD, with free cancellation. I have Hilton Diamond status. Both hotels have good reviews on trip advisor. I was wondering which you guys think is the better hotel. My flight from Bahrain leaves after midnight so being granted a late check out at the Hilton Garden Inn is more probable. TIA.

I didn't stay ay Hilton GI but did visit & looked at some rooms. Nice fresh property with a rather nice roof top pool but it definitely felt much more of a budget offering (it is, after all!) & ultimately we preferred the IC. $110 at IC is a pretty good rate to be fair!

I admit the rate of 110 USD at this hotel is really good. Comparing views from the room though, it looks like the Garden Inn has much better views ... Bahrain Bay and the World Trade Center, also from the breakfast restaurant. The pre-paid rate for Garden Inn is 225 USD, and now the newly opened Hilton which was showing fully booked during my search last week for my date of stay is now bookable for 165 USD, pre-paid. They also have nice views from their rooms/studios. I usually get nice room upgrades as a Hilton diamond and I really like great views from the room especially in the afternoon/evening so I am more undecided now

I just spent 20 nights at the IC. Hilton Garden Inn does have great views and is close The Avenues mall but the IC is right next to the Souq, which is a lot more fun for a local Bahrain experience!
