As an RA, I booked at the IC at the lowest rate in April and got club access. I'd look at some of the different rates, as I often saw some nice ones in the 3500-4500 range.

Thats more like what I'd expect for BKK - we paid about 3500 at the marriott inc breakfast, club access and upgrade at start of June..

The BKK Marriott resort has been wonderful each time we've been and at a far cheaper rate - we usually get upgraded from a basic room to a junior suite which is big enough and it is all very pleasant.

I would never stay there also at these rates.

But lower rates are available on their website (w/o breakfast); Adv Purchase; also F&F

I remember staying there for the 1st time when it was a Le Meridien in 2001 for US$ 84.50 all inclusive ^ and loved the experience.

This has been a 1st choice for hotels in Bangkok (though like the JW Marriott also and love their breakfast, not perfect location), seconded by the Holiday Inn next door, but I feel the rates should be reasonable also.

Cheers

Ambassador Upgrade for 2 or more rooms

Can someone tell me the policy of the hotel regarding Ambassador benifits for 2 or more rooms booked at the hotel on the same dates.

I am sure some of us have experiences about this.

IC BKK and the HI BKK next door are quite strict about their upgrade policies. You are lucky if both of the rooms are upgraded. Even as a RA, only one room was upgraded.

They are upgrading you to Club Room with Club Access.

For the corner suite you need to book the Club Room.

Thats what I was informed by the IC Bkk by email few days back.

If you don't mind me asking, for when is your booking?

You need to find out directly from the hotel if they will upgrade an Ambassador above this to the Ambassador Suite or better
