The $20 AMB benefit is IDR180,000 in Indonesia which is about $12. They are using an exchange rate from about 10 years ago

Welcome email July 2022

Hurray for the holidays!
Received the welcome email for our upcoming stay.

Keep in mind, i booked the cheapest and lowest catagory room in FEB at pandemic prices and as RA got upgraded to a club room with club access. I will check insitu if the added level of Diamond also entails breakfast at Taman Gita as a stack on benefit.

Thank you for posting this. Have a great time HadesNL .

Taman Gita breakfast seems to be granted as per the letter even for Club guests. If one were Diamond I'd guess the choice benefit breakfast would be at this venue as well (or probably Jimbaran Gardens) as the two main venues.

What confuses me slightly is that they don't mention breakfast at Club lounge (should be default) or in room (unlimited items from breakfast room dining menu) which was granted before Covid period for Club guests.

Anyone who has been there recently in a Club room can possibly share their experience? While I don't mind Taman Gita, we much prefer the Club lounge as it has a smaller crowd and all and the a la carte approach works better for us. Outside in Jimbaran Gardens wouldn't float our boat so to say, but personal preferences differ. Thank you.

During our last visit we could also have breakfast in the Club lounge or at the Club pool.

Thanks, no Club Lounge would have been odd otherwise. Actually, when reminiscing about the old days (e.g. when the Club had a special menu and you could order just smaller portions of basically items from the room service menu), we recalled that in Club guest had the following breakfast options (a while back )

- Club Lounge
- Taman Gita
- Bella Cucina
- Jimbaran Gardens
- Room Service (unlimited items from breakfast menu)

It was very good giving great flexibility. Anyways...

Anyways, indeed. Other flexibilities and conveniences have also switched from benefits to opportunities for revenue generation. There were distant days when airport arrival and transfer to the hotel was a much easier process; but things change, and rarely for the better

Joumpa VIP meet&greet

We made it!

All suitcases made it too,
All persons are still sane and survived the Bali arrivals procedure.

We arrived on 14th July 2022 on Thursday with SQ938 arriving on 11.55 mornings in business class.
We as a family were seated in the last rows of the Singapore Airlines 787 business class cabin

The VIP meet&greet service Joumpa offers exactly as advertised, it is a must !
Only because of G20 conference being held at Bali, the aerobridge was full with official CD bobo's so our Joumpa respresentative had to stand around the corner from the aerobridge, where we met him.

He offered to carry our bags, explained the procedure and guided us with excellent English through the different counters/stages.
1) bypass vaccination certificate check
2) direct to Visa Upon Arrival desk
3) passport control = crew / diplomatic lane
4) at the belt got our suitcases and pushed the cart
5) at customs helped the suitcases through the scanner
6) delivered us to IC Bali rep and the waiting minivan transfer to hotel

We were lucky our flight was the first to arrive and we all sat in business class and were off the planes fast so we got a head start before the mass of people appeared.

* all was official with even an official invoice company registrated bill presented, so no bribes or corruption tactics
* no mention at all of penduli lindungi app at all stages
* starting sunday 17 juli, foreigners wishing to travel in domestic flights in Indonesia, need no more pcr-test if vaccinated + at least 1x booster
= can recommend this service

Photos of our arrival procedure into DPS Bali airport:
1st bottleneck:

Thanks to Joumpa VIP meet & greet service,
we managed to bypass 1st arrival bottleneck : the vaccination registration certification

! All our data (passport + vaccination certificates) were sent in advance via hotel congierge to Joumpa arrival services
! No need to show health insurance

! No need to show peduli lindungi app
(we had it installed + registered but no additional data uploaded)

Bali hosts the G20 conference this summer

So on to the next step:
2nd bottleneck

Joumpa VIP meet & greet service,
took us direct to 2nd arrival bottleneck : the visa upon arrival payment counter
Our representative made the purchase for us

These are the rates for 30 days visa upon arrival,
can be extended once for another 30 days.......
creditcard payment adds +3%

And now to the 3rd bottleneck

Joumpa VIP meet & greet service,
took us direct to the 3rd arrival bottleneck: passport control counters :
we were allowed to use vip/diplomatic/crew counters on the left hand side

And after passport control onwards to the belt area

After that we went together to the luggage claim area,
where our assistant helped with our suitcases and helped put them through the customs scanner......
ALL bags MUST be X-rayed by customs before exiting the secure arrivals area into the public area

travel is restarting as even monks from Thailand are visiting Bali!

- priority tags Singapore Airlines Business Class work at DPS!

Our 6 suitcases came of the belt amongst the first

Our Joumpa representative knew about our hotel transfer car booked via Intercontinental Bali Jimbaran hotel's congierge and was in communication with our hotel representative. We met him and all together we were guided towards the car pick up point.

Everything went seamless due to booking the Joumpa service via our hotel's congierge and let them arrange and communicate everything.

He then brought us to the hotel representative and guided us to the hotel transfer van.

All worth the effort of having the hotel congierge arrange this service to ensure smooth arrival into Bali.

Thank you for sharing HadesNL and happy to hear all worked well with the immigration fast track service.

Wondering what happened to the Harnn bathroom amenities as these "green tea" ones look more nondescript.

Enjoy your stay, hope you'll have a fabulous time.

Thank you, i can fully recommend it to anyone! Well worth the expense.
Harnn contract for "Mystique";might have been terminated due to the pandemic and this could be an intermezzo brand before a switch to brand standerd Byredo or a return to another more global mainstream brand.

This is the menu for the club cocktail hour. The buffet at that moment is just doing small tidbits and served at the table is a daily changing set of hot nibbles. This evening it was served with homemade sambal trassie, an excellent addition for those that like fiery spicy!

Drinks choices , at the Club Lounge bar area you can spot what flasks of what brand of alcohol are available

Drinks & menu offering
The nibbles on the right change daily

Yesterday's afternoon tea

This was the set served at afternoon tea yesterday,
Teas that are served are of the loose leaf variety.
The bun with smoked halibut was quite tasty,
Scones were fresh and hot from the oven.

Thumbs up Taman Gita breakfast

First of all, we got up at ridiculous a clock....
So we decided all to have a moonbath and go on an early walk across the grounds and beach to catch some spooky athmosphere....
Our lads love Zak Bagans from TV's Ghost Adventures (notice generation gap interests) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Adventures

Around 2.30 AM - the ghostly hour : i felt kinda stupid going out in the pitch dark but hey that's the TV-show ghost adventures in a nuttshell anyway and what the younger generation likes .....

We got back and went straight to the Taman Gita breakfast room at 6.30 AM.
At the entrance they check your room number, take your temperature and hand out a mask if you forgot yours.
A polite notice mentions to please wear a mask when delving into the buffet.

The place has been redecorated with more socially distanced tables, but you can also sit outside.
Every table has a jar full of table numbers sheets and you take one with you as you order at the cook to order live stations,
You give them the table number sheet and when your hot order is done, they deliver it at your table.

An refurbishment improvement noticed.....
To reach the outdoor patio, now much easier via an automated sliding door

The notice about the mask, but then again some masks are more obvious then others

Table number sheet to show at live cooking station

Staff were very friendly and the cooks at the live station were eager to explain the options and the ability to customise your order.
Food tasted fresh and there was a good choice between western, local, indian and healthy hipster flavours. Traditional herbal drink Jamu was also offered, a mix of spices and roots https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamu

Servers were very polite and prompt clearing empty plates and cups so the restaurant stayed clean and neat and did not have a messy impression. Excellent hospitality in the early morning.

+ excellent barrista made coffees !
good for the early caffeine kick

Traditional Jamu herbal drink is available - hipster LA would be proud!

Club Lounge afternoon tea choices

Below you will find the available different teas being served during the afternoon tea service:

Friday's afternoon tea set offer

We went to Ubud today, you wouldn't guess there was a pandemic with travel restrictions as there was a good share of foreigners walking about and on their mopeds. We stopped by at the Goa Gajeh elephant cave at noon for a return visit, it was very quiet and we had the place to ourselves. We also returned to Murni's warung https://www.murnis.com which we last visited during our courting days and lonely planet was still ad-free..... No big busloads of tourists yet fortunately!

Today's evening cocktail hour

After a slightly overcast day we were just in time for happy hour cocktail hour at the club lounge.
Interesting that upon request of my eldest, they would whip up a mean frozen strawberry daiquiri.

The buffet stayed the same as in salad and cheese but the cold appetizers and desserts are the things that change daily.
This is what was on offer for today

Hot canaps of today

Comes with some nibbles
