Might be a bit off topic, but I'm thinking about joining Ambassador (let it expired a couple months ago) because I have 3 stays at IC coming up.
- Does the USD 200 fee earn bonus points on Chase IHG card?
- Any recent DP on joining Ambassador at a hotel? I remember getting some bonus points when joining when checking-in

Prior to getting on board the instant diamond offer, I had registered for the "stay 5 nights, get Platinum until December 2023" offer. Does anyone know if I stay for five nights, whether I get automatically downgraded from Diamond to Platinum? If not, will the Platinum automatically kick in after the Diamond expires?

I renewed my Ambassador about a month ago (was expiring at end of October), I then signed up for the instant Diamond Promo and It reflects a Diamond status till end of the year.
Are there any Data points on the 10 nights that are required to keep it? Also is there anyway to cancel Ambassador renewal and purchase again later?

I was looking for DPs on how the charge codes and couldn’t find any. I don’t have an IHG card but was thinking it might show up as a hotel charge. The pending charge shows “IHG Ambassador Activation” with a category of “Business Services” so I don’t think it will code as hotel/travel. No idea whether it will work as an IHG-specific charge though.

The opposite way
i did it the opposite way, renewed Amb before expiry and jumped on the Diamond offer, status shows till end of 22.

Of those whom I talked into using the upgrade to Diamond link and then mentioned the possibility (and potential risk at the time) of extending by buying Ambassador status, it seems like about 1/3-1/2 have moved ahead with paying up for Ambassador status and more may do so. Money for IHG.
