Welcome Amenity on Reward Nights?
I'm planning to use some points for a reward stay at a Crowne Plaza. In the past, (basically) no Elite benefits were granted on reward nights, however the language seems to have changed:
Will I be able to choose breakfast as welcome amenity for my stay as a Diamond member (at the Crowne Plaza in Hamburg)? Any recent experiences? Obviously I'm a bit wary since benefits usually only go downhill over time...

- Benefits on Reward Nights Stays: IHG One Rewards Member benefits are available on Reward Night stays with the exception of the Guaranteed Room Availability benefit for Platinum Elite and Diamond Elite Members.

I received full Diamond benefits at the CP Seattle and CP Copenhagen on a recent trip. Full breakfast offered, and in CPH upgraded to a nice corner suite with club access.

Yes, I received the welcome amenity points and upgrade for a recent stay as well. Just that the stay hasn't been reflected as a completed stay and also hasn't been added to the number of nights / stays for milestone rewards.
So maybe just have to wait for some time before the stay is updated.

Thanks for all the replies. That sounds promising and I'm looking forward to my first real benefits in Europe (Taiwan and China have been much more generous in the past).

I see the rules themselves as pretty decent. The hard part is getting properties to play by the rules and seeing how well IHG handles guest complaints about properties who don’t honor the posted rules.

Had a stay at the LHR CP last weekend - two separate bookings for Sat/Sun and Sun/Mon
The Sun/Mon night has posted as a qualifying stay but no sign of the Sat/Sun. I’ll give it a few more days before doing a retro claim.

I also did a stay, checked in last Saturday and checked out last Sunday. After 7 days, the stay has finally been reflected under "Past Stays" today.
But strange that the number of nights clocked under Milestone Rewards did not increase accordingly. Not sure whether it will take more time to be shown under Milestone Rewards
Tried to contact IHG via the app's Global LiveChat Support Team, one staff claimed that Reward Nights don't count towards Milestone Rewards, and after I clarified that that differs from the T&Cs and what earlier LiveChat agents said, the agent left me waiting for 45 minutes promising to check, but didn't get back..
