It reduces the value somewhat if the only the best flexible rate is valid. All member rates at least should be valid, although I get why the Virtuoso etc aren't.

Hopefully my trip to the IC Barcelona this month will accept my lounge pass on the lux life rate.

Thumbs up F&B Voucher at Voco The Hague - NOV 2022

Currently staying over for a business meeting.
And out of boredom before the clients arrive, was scrolling through my app....

And what do we have here:

The system seems to recognize my stay
as i am logged into the hotel's internet with my IHG-account

It shows my current expenditure at Voco The Hague's F&B venues

Interesting the voucher is worth $20
And at current currency exchange rate is worth €19,31 in the Netherlands

And it allows me to apply the voucher on my F&B charges
0 means i havn't used and billed anything yet at the hotel's F&B venues

So,

After my meeting and business dinner is done,
I will suggest to everyone to have a nightcap at Voco's bar Ultramarijn,
to run up a tab and then try to apply the F&B vouchers tomorrow morning....

So please stay tuned !
and "Bottoms Up" - Prøst !

Finally!

And that's a neat way of redeeming them too, rather than showing an agent at checkout who doesn't know what to do with it! Providing it works of course.

Really interested to hear your experience here. I have a stay next week in IC Barcelona and would love to be able to use these.
Do you have to redeem each one, one by one? Or can you multi select at redemption stage?

I believe each voucher needs to be selected and redeemed one by one.
Which means you will would see the F&B folio been deducted by increments of $20 (or currency equalivant)

There seems to be no way to multiselect and apply...
(that would be to much for poor IHG's IT)

That's OK I guess. Multi select would be good.
Really interested to hear your experiences with it.

I like the look of the 12 course tasting menu at IC Barcelona and 12 vouchers (plus lux life $100 credit) will cover that for two.

I see,

Indeed it ought to be possible to treat yourself to such an extravaganza!
Especially if your milestone choice awards allow you to enjoy it for free

However an important note:
- i believe you will have to roomcharge all F&B expenditure
- AND your log in on the hotel's internet must be with your IHGaccountnumber that matches name of reservation and being registered guest
- AND i read / heard somewhere -can't tell if it was corporate/gossip or such... but in order for the system to easy see the F&B expenditure of which the vouchers can be applied on,
one must NOT sign the extra tip line....
the extra amount for tips had been confusing for the system and they were still ironing the limitations of the system to cope with that.....
it could be different for each brand / region specfic tips culture (=USA) or service charge % (Asia) but i hope they will get that fixed soon

i will ask tomorrow morning to be certain,

Thanks for the data. All of those things should be fine. I hope!

Appreciate you sharing your experiences and interested to hear what they say tomorrow. Thanks!

Something must be happening. If I select reward wallet on the app all I get now is an endless sign in loop.

Not sure I’m posting in correct thread so please move if necessary. Just wanted to share my recent experiences. Diamond member.

Was hoping to reach 40 milestone on last stay - HI in Auz. Had 2 separate bookings. Four nights preferred partner discount followed by one night flexible rate. The points for all nights have posted under date of last night stay. The previous 4 nights have a separate entry saying 0 points for this stay. I have been credited with one night (last night) towards milestone award but nothing for previous 4. Is this correct? Does “preferred partner rate” ie rail card at least 20% discount not count?

I chose breakfast at amenity on check in. Not offered but I asked for it. Got to breakfast first morning and was told not listed. Had to wait until authorised. On check out I had been charged $30 for breakfast for every night!

Just checked into a CP. I was offered drinks voucher or points. I asked for free breakfast. Was told I could only have it for one night. “It’s like the drinks or points which you only get for first night.” I was then told that they would do me a great favour and let me have breakfast for second morning as I was travelling alone, as usually for one night there would be two people and two breakfasts so I could have the “extra” breakfast on my second morning! Will be interesting to see what happens!

normally preferred partner rate is qualifying
just file a missing point claim

Good morning at 4.30 AM from a chilly The Hague,

Unfortunately was woken up with a text about the passing of a relative,
Although it is early, one can't catch sleep anymore, thinking of all the arrangements,
So now getting ready for an early breakfast at 6.30 and then hop on the first train back home.

Yesternight i ran a small tab of about €30 at the Voco the Hague's hotel bar.
I did a room charge and after signing the bill, i forgot to ask for a receipt copy...
A different girl manned the bar and her Tiki themed drinks were quite good with a punch.
(will post more experiences on the Voco The Hague - Den Haag - Master Thread thread later this week)

So i have opened the IHG-app and it still mentions my F&B expenditure at the hotel at 0
I tried to apply the $20 F&B milestone nights choice voucher anyway and the system was spinning, spinning, spinning as i was hoping it would be working....

And fearing the windows blue screen of death, i was greeted by this:

It seems:
- in order to apply the voucher directly from the app
- you MUST have done F&B expenditure at some monetary value
- the expenditure must charged on your room account, on your hotelfolio in the system
- the charges must be inputted as applicable F&B charges aka some coding in order for the voucher to be valid
- it seems to recognize all requirements are fullfilled except - an amount - to be credited

Semi - good news! Concerning F&B vouchers

Semi-good news !
We all need that early in the morning

I just spoke with the night receptionist + the bald night duty manager.

explaining - see above post-

we went step by step through the whole process together....

they were both genuine surprised it didn't work,

according to them all criteria were fulfilled:
- email is same as in IHG-account as stayprofile as reservation
- name match with reservation and IHG-account
- reception can see the roomcharge of the F&B at the bar (hotel's owned & operated venue)

* they will have a look at their backoffice end and see what's the problem while i am having breakfast.....
They took a shot of the error message and also mentioned to forward this to the day dutymanager / reception team......

So it seems all infrastructure is in place for the F&B vouchers to be claimed at the Voco The Hague but that IHG's IT is a bit temperamental
so fingers crossed
