I just did a test. I was clicking through a cashback each time the purchase failed. I then tried clicking through the IHG email and it worked. Then I tried to buy more by clicking through a cashback portal again but it failed. Each failure was the little blue balls spinning around waiting for the confirmation that never came. For some reason, clicking through a portal hasn't worked at all and I've tried around 8-9 times on different browsers and computers.

Maybe they reason they don't want to give this deal in addition to an affiliate commission. That would be fine, but they should say so!

IHG points are sold via Points . com so won't generate any cashback even when clicking through the IHG website.
Top Cash Back's T&Cs also say (as does Quidco)
'Cashback is only availabnle for commissionable IHG room rates'

Mine got rejected when paying with creditcard 3 times.
Then tried a day later and suddenly all got accepted. Weird stuff. Bought the max points and got a hotel priced 1200 due to college football for the price of 650 worth of points. So happy with the deal.

First time I tried one transaction *without* clicking through TCB, it processed just fine.
Didn't get a chance to try once again after that with a TCB clickthrough order, but I'm guessing itcheroni was correct.
Did anyone get an affiliate link to credit properly after fulfilling this deal online?

IHG points at 2x are a good deal (assuming we don't get an immediate devaluation) for frequent travelers. You do have to watch the point prices though, as they do change. I try to review my reservations once a week. I can usually get HIX for 12,500 to 15,000 points per night. With my 10% IHG credit card rebate and the 500 welcome points they give me, this works out to about $60/night. And there are no taxes to pay. It can be an even better deal when I stay at an IHG property on points for 4 nights and get the 4th night free with the other IHG card AND the 10% rebate, but I usually only do that once every year or two.

Could it be that it the security setting of an antivirus programm are the cause of your trouble? I am asking, because Points.com is a partner with the Commission Junction network and afair allowing cashback portals to participate. However they route via there own side (something like /www. jdoqocy. com/click-1234-11453734. Sometimes virus programms block this kind of "re-routing", especially if trunkated linkes are used.

Not nearly as good as the last one.
You get a bonus of 80% if you buy 3k points ore more before May 03, 2021. Up to 150,000 points.
Good only (because there is a bonus at all) if you need to fill up your account with a small number of points

It doesn't really matter though. I cannot imagine anyone buying IHG points after yesterday's massive devaluation of point redemptions.
