FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: FLYGVA
Wiki was copied from 2017 thread
Created WIKI Mar2017 purely to add the "new" IHG PB List URL as I can't find by screen navigation since IHG changed the reservation screens etc, and the old url if saved no longer works either.

Just got fed up trying to find , much easier to store in wiki, hope this helps others

Pointbeaks changed the amount of points needed: This is discussed in this thread: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/intercontinental-hotels-ihg-rewards-club-intercontinental-ambassador/1890423-point-breaks-now-5k-10-15k.html

This thread is about the discussion about the locations and the actual list, please use the thread above for discussions about the increased number of points needed for pointbreak redemptions.

SCUBACCR

Use this URL for "Live" PB Listing:
https://www.ihg.com/rewardsclub/content/us/en/redeem-rewards/pointbreaks.html

The PREVIEW list usually appears on IHG's blog first

ANA Crowne Plaza Hiroshima - 15,000 points - Rates start at $62
Holiday Inn Cuernavaca - 15,000 points - Rates start at $55.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cuernavaca - 15,000 points - Rates start at $57
Holiday Inn Guadalajara Expo - 15,000 points - Rates start at $68
Crowne Plaza Puebla - 15,000 points - Rates start at $70
Holiday Inn Hermosillo - 15,000 points - Rates start at $62
Holiday Inn Express Tuxpan - 15,000 points - Rates start at $59

What kind of fools do you take us for, IHG???
(Oh, I guess we're the kind of fools who would bring you business because of your loyalty programme. Oops. Won't be making that mistake again...)

Yep not good. Have to decide whether to ditch the IHG MC and burn down the points or not.....

Ok. I think it's official now. Pointbreaks are basically dead. I don't really see how anyone can spin this any other way.

The 5k list is pathetic. The 10k list looks like the old 5k lists. The 15k list mainly covers places where prevailing cash rates are around $100, and where there are plenty of 10k options anyway.

Move along, people. Nothing to see here.

Check to see if you booked for 1 adult. You need 2 adults to add a guest. I was able to add an additional guest to my reservation.

The only thing left is to make them non-refundable.

Yeah the 5k list is very, very thin.

Ah, you are correct! I forget that they always populate the reservation for 1 adult, and you have to change it.

Well, I have considered PB dead for years as the last value I remember was the IC Stockholm. LONG gone are the days of the IC Vienna type properties. Cannot say I am surprised by this, but since I have already not bothered with them in years, not a big loss. IHG points are like Hilton points...50000000 points for anything decent nowadays.

I have two adults, and there's no such an option, just the comments.
Also, you were able to add the names going into the booking and modifying it. No "modify booking" link either.

And travelblogs are keeping the tune alive about how this is the best deal ever - are they on IHG's payroll?

You might want to recheck the Pointbreaks thread on this one.
