Points for Elite Status – For purposes of determining Elite status, IHG® Rewards Club points are classified as either Qualifying Points or Non-Qualifying Points. Points earned from Qualifying Rates paid for hotel stays, spend on IHG® Rewards Club credit cards, select partner activity, IHG® Rewards Club Bonus Points Packages, and Qualified Spend through IHG® Business Rewards are considered Qualifying Points and are counted towards Elite status. A Qualifying Rate includes the following: non-discounted rate, standard corporate rate, worldwide sales negotiated rate, national/regional/local government rate and specified leisure rates as confirmed by the IHG reservation system. All other point earning transactions, including points earned from IHG® promotions, Elite status bonuses, activation bonuses or select promotions offered through IHG® Rewards Club credit cards, select partner promotions, point vouchers, point purchases, point transfers, and point deposits, will be considered Non-Qualifying Points and will not be counted towards Elite status.

For any IHG property, including the ones listed below, it's a good idea to check the IHG app for additional bonus point packages. For whatever reason, the IHG website does not always include all points packages that can be found in the app.

Yes, those are the safest ones. The other points may or may not be EQP depending on how the hotel posts them.

Apologies for the delay in responding. Sometimes they post automatically (as points and elite qualifying points) and sometimes I have to request missing points - when I do I have gotten elite qualifying points.

you have been extremely lucky to have some inexperienced agents who have not be trained properly in this matter. You may continue to be lucky but I would suggest you not to be disappointed in near future.

The only way to guarantee 10,000 EQP is to book 1,000 bonus points per night package for 10 nights. or two 5,000 bonus points package in two hotels, or two non-conservative nights in the same hotel.

But congratulations on your lucky experience in the past. And be prepared that it may no be the case in future.

These Bonus Points will be posted together with your stay under the breakdown of your points earned from that stay you will see Bonus Points: X,000

Imagine, if I were to buy 26,000 points, it would cost me $299. This way, it (25,000) cost $80.

By the way, that hotel is not so bad, with a nice rooftop viewing terrace. But the rooms resemble hamster cages they are so small, not sure where they could fit the wheel in. The adjoining brewhouse restaurant is quite good: I had the mixed shrimp, chicken and beef fajitas, which arrived on the table sizzling and steaming. Really good dish for $25.

The Indigo Brooklyn is still offering the 25k rate, I don't know what you're doing wrong but there are plenty of 10k+ rates still out there.

I've never found any packages using the bonus points option in the App that weren't there by doing a normal search

I frequently found the Bonus Points option PROVIDED the hotel in destination provide one.

But I prefer the website option. Sometimes I can find the hidden 5,000 Bonus points (i.e. HI Madrid Piramides, when you search normally, you sometimes find 5,000 Bonus points. But following the web link, you always find it).

If you want to find your own path, you can type www.ihg.com in browser.

Then go to Offers

Following IHG Rewards Club Offers

And in the bottom of the page, there is Bonus Points package. Click on that you will find it.

Anyone notice that the 10k point packages are now called Hotel Package instead of bonus point package?

Saw in a CP in OR stating clearly that the package is non-qualifying.

The weird thing is that some of the HIX still has the rate. It's called hotel package, but in the description it states very clearly as bonus points packages.

I don't dare to book them as it might turn out to be non-qualifying.
