Please post your Priority Club Elite experiences (Archive Thread 2008)

I thought it might be useful to have a thread similar to the excellent Royal Ambassador experiences thread, but focusing on the Priority Club Elite experiences:

- What is your Priority Club status?
- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
- How are the rooms?
- How is the exec. lounge?
- What was good and what was bad?
- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

If you are an Gold or Platinum Ambassador, there is a dedicated thread for Ambassador Experiences.

What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Quite okay so far though I will be here for 9 more nights so let's see

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a Queen Bed room and got a King Executive. Best rooms in the house on the 9th floor

How are the rooms?
Nicely decorated in a warm but modern kind of way. Small though and bathrooms come only with shower and no bath tub. Would have liked one as it is freaking freezing over here

How is the exec. lounge?
There is none but the Executive room allows you two bottles of still water for free from the minibar and it has been replenished every day so far. Nice gesture.

What was good and what was bad?
Good
Service quite okay so far. Good upgrade. Free ADSL in room rocks (speeds are good too)

Bad
Location may not be great for everyone as it is in a business area with not much around in the sense of eating places or so. I picked it because our company's local offices are within walking distance which matters to me .... ohh and the budget was an issue too (stingy client )

In-house restaurant is okay but I find the menu a bit limited though possibly I'm just a picky eater. Ohh and I guess I need to get used to European hotel food prices again. 5 Euro for a water and 20 Euro for a main course is mild, I know, but in my home region APAC I get sooooo much more and better food for this. 7 Euro room service delivery charge is steep I think.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Quite good value from my point of view at ca. 100 Euro a night on average incl. breakfast

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked King using Pointbreaks, upgraded to Club Floor with lounge access.

How are the rooms?
Quite good, very large TV but no minibar.

How is the exec. lounge?
Nice breakfast, didn't use otherwise.

What was good and what was bad?
The hotel is very nice and well-kept. The Philadelphia part of the name is missleading though, since it is a 20 minute car ride to downtown Philadelphia from this New Jersey location.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
On Pointbreaks it was excellent value!

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Executive King on 10th floor. No upgrade, got what I reserved. Last minute trip. Most inexpensive geographically suitable property of the programs I Was interested in ( Hilton, Marriott and Priority Club)

How are the rooms?

OK room, bad location right across from elevator. Tube TV, not many channels.
How is the exec. lounge?none

What was good and what was bad?

Good

Fast Wireless Internet.

Platinum amenities included a form letter from GM on my desk and I bottle of Deer Park water.

Bad
Room location but it was pretty quiet. Complimentary hotel shuttle doesn't begin till 7AM.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Would you return? $135 for Executive King on top floor reserved 3 days in advance. There were $123 advance purchase rates but I wanted fully refundable and was willing to pay $5 more to reserve Executive King over standard room.

I would return if I needed to be in this neighborhood and the price was right. I prefer the Hilton, Embassy Suites and Hampton Old Town Alexandria or the Springfield VA Hilton but this was $70 less and it's better than the Holiday Inn by the Eisenhower Metro stop. I used to stay at the Holiday Inn on King St. but its a Kimpton now.

Great hotel 10 miles from Boston, awesome Italian restaurant. Italian wings and seafood linguine were great. Received choice of drink and snack from the shop, $5 off supper and free full breakfast as a plat.

$109, good room, good plat benefits. I'll be back. Nlot sure what's around the hotel as it was business and went the hotel restaurant for supper.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Ok.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Executive King, received the same.

How are the rooms?
Nice rooms with rainforest shower, 80's style TV, minibar, free Wifi.

How is the exec. lounge?
limited breakfast spread, free drinks and snacks for business partners who visit you for meetings

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
- I got a welcome card, a fruit plate and a small box of chocolate delievered to my room shortly after arrival.
- laundry service is excellent and quick, four pieces are included in the execuive club rate
- breakfast in the downstairs restaurant is excellent

Bad:
- At check-in they tried to give me higher rate than I had actually booked. This is the second time this has happend, I complained to Ambassador services.
- I only got the "daily" newspaper every other day
- breakfast in the executive lounge is lousy

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
This HI is very expensive for China, would return if I had to be in this area of town.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Queen Balcony, was told no upgrade at check-in as fully booked which is a touch annoying as there were definitely rooms available at 10am the same day.

How are the rooms?
Good, very new decor.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?
The hotel is very new and in a good location. The pool area wsa of a fairly different size. The hotel was generally fairly peaceful (walls seem to be thick enough) and only complaint (other than being upset at no upgrade - and yes I know it's not a certainty) was that it felt a little lacking in character especially compared to e.g. the Peppers establishments in the same region, then again they are built to serve slightly different purposes.

Restuarant, whilst not having the most extensive or elaborate menu, did the items well in my opinion.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Stayed on a cheap flex rate with a priority privilege discount rate so good value at that ($135) - pretty mediocre value at full flex rates (upto $310).

Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Very happy - wonderful hotel

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

KING DELUXE OCEAN VIEW

All rooms were ocean view at this resort. The room was much bigger than anticipated and contained 2 king beds for the price of 1!! ;-)

How are the rooms?

Exceptionally clean and fresh. Large with a balcony. Great views from the 5th floor (top level)

How is the exec. lounge?

Didn't use or view

What was good and what was bad?

Good - Great Spa - very large jacuzzi and steam room, separate areas for men and women. Great treatments. Very large gym overlooking the amazing views of the resort below. Restaurants x 3 (good selection of food)

http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...nama_City.html

Bad - distance from Panama City. Cost of sight seeing trips booked via the hotel were a little pricy in my opinion.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Excellant - used Point Breaks - 5,000 per night. Standard rates started at $394 up to $1000+. Checked discounted rates before I left and I was finding $200+ p/n exc taxes. So I was very happy to have stayed over Xmas for free!

Would defo stay again

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a Queen room and got one - on the 7th floor (of 8) which apparently was the upgrade. Other than that, nothing special at all.

How are the rooms?
OK, again, nothing special. Very basic amenities. It was freezing cold and a bit damp in the room as if there had not been any guest for quite some time.

How is the exec. lounge?
None existant.

What was good and what was bad?
Good - was only a 5 min cab drive from where I needed to go.
Bad - cold room - did not feel like an upgrade.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
I think 129 GBP/night (best flexible rate, b/c of late booking) are no bargain at all. Not sure about return ...
