I can't vaguely remember anything as i had such an *** hangover.

Nibbles

It's Zuidas, so there's some restaurants in the area, but significantly pales in comparison to Canary Wharf.

Access to the airport:
- easy within 20 minutes as the hotel is next to highway A10 south
- Ubers can find the hotel easily
If you need to be at Dam SQ or anywhere within the Nassaukade / Stadhouderskade belt:
- better to book the Kimpton instead ! = all centre walkable without fuss - taxi to airport takes 35 min
- Amsterdam's Greenists has rampaged a lot of street restrictions / one ways / diversions for taxis / Uber,
Even me, who prefers to be taxied around, now have to take the bike to get from west to east because the roads are a mess
So from CP to innercity during rush hour, it could take up to 40min because of the roads unpredictability and traffic flow
- if you are not weary from public transport you can walk to Amsterdam Zuid railway station and catch the tram/metro into the city
The vicinity of CP is during the week busy because of the offices "Zuid As (business district)
There is a sleepy feeling during the weekends.
There are some residential blocks too and more being build but it is not the most exciting area.
The map:
IMO: - )
- from the hotel to Amsterdam Zuid railway station is an easy walk -
- close to the highway A10 ring south
- the Albert Heijn grocery store nearby should fix any self catering needs -
- restaurant Loetje serves steaks but also other Dutch lunch/dinner favorites https://www.loetje.nl/en/locations/zuidas/
If you need an active lively Amsterdam Binnenstad stay : CP is nothing for you
if you need a cheaper place and are willing to commute / or your destination takes you to the outercity : CP is a better choice

Kimpton was my first choice but no availability with IHG for my dates
Thank you for all the very helpful information 👍
Mostly I will see friends that live there and not looking for a lively time
But I do like to have a day of touristy stuff and preferably away from crowds

You are welcome!
I'll give you an insiders tip:
Google will usually show the shortest route between points in Amsterdam
Those are unfortunately not the fastest by any chance.
If you plan on taking Uber/Taxi,
- Be prepared that they might have to detour to get to your destination.
Especially the canals west of the W-Hotel / Royal Palace are a disaster that only licensed taxis with permit can traverse the Rozengracht towards the innercity
- some streets via the canals (grachtengordel) are closed between 23 - 6 H by movable barriers so residents can sleep
So vehicles might have to reroute:
- west via Haarlemerhouttuinen
- east via Weesperstraat
To reach the innercity
This will show you all roadprojects and have travel directions expectations managed:

Whatever happened to the world when things seemed a whole lot simpler to get from point A to B!😮

Looking at a Thursday to Sunday stay later this month. How is the club lounge? Almost no info from 2023 on TA or here, any recent stays?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I haven't been back in ages .....
Let's just say the area around the hotel has been crammed with new office towers and condominiums ....
It has a very modernist look....
Not my photo but a recent one from the housing development agency .....
(With both kids out to college we thought we needed a different home but the budget dictated otherwise)
To get a feeling what the crowds and affluent living area it has become:
https://www.funda.nl/zoeken/koop/?se...2Fzuidas%22%5D
(I would even need to sell my personal collection of intimate lingerie just to touch the front door knob)
But i digress...
An overview:
The CP Amsterdam Zuid is the orange redish building on the lower right,
Entrance to the hotel is to the right side of the building.
The hotel has a driveway for easy car/taxi pick up drop off
Left behind of the left yellow tower is the entrance to Railway Station Amsterdam Zuid with public transport connections towards the innercity and Schiphol airport.
Dutch Rail: https://www.ns.nl/en
Municipal transport provider; https://www.gvb.nl/en
This photo is taken with the sun in south west
If you expect beer & tits tourism, you might be disappointed when staying in this area .....
i had a look for you at the Dutch version of their website:
https://crowneplazaamsterdam.com/nl/hotelkamers-suites/
Some observation on the Dutch descriptions:
It seems to have a smallish gym
You can rent a bike
You can buy some snacks & drinks in the lobby
Standard Rooms come with a kettle
All rooms have safe
All rooms have the option of a pillow menu
Premium "Club" rooms + Suites with a luxury coffeemachine : Illy capsule machine
Rooms have or shower only or shower + tub combo : best is to mail ahead if you are not elegant climbing in a tub
Suites have a seperate shower and bath set up
So it seems the junior suite is open planish : the layout as the letter U
The family suite has a sliding door seperating living from sleepin area : true 1 bedroom suite
Wording that club lounge is open : in Dutch
Breakfast is served in the Club Lounge
They seems to have spruced the Crowne Plaza Club Lounge up in a eh.., interesting colour à la Panthère Rose
Photo from their site:
What i can remember that there is not much in views but it is a quiet place
An overview of their room types
And a photo of their main restaurant breakfast room offering from their site
- nothing all to spectaculair but in Dutch it mentions hot & cold items with fresh prepared omelette station according to your specifics
Some information about the area of the hotel : Amsterdam Zuid As (Southern Axis)
https://nextjourneyahead.com/destina...-travel-guide/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zuidas
https://www.amsterdamsights.com/about/zuidas.html
https://zuidas.nl
So you get an idea what to expect ....
EDIT
It wasn't easy but found for you a recentish review even with club lounge analysis
Hmm, although it says deceptive JUN 2023 posted, when you look at the railway information, it mention to watch out for 11/12 FEB delays .....
