I see that this hotel has been named the #1 Wedding Hotel in Asia by Smart Travel Asia in the 2023 Best in Travel Awards.

I am just wondering whether anyone who has stayed here has been negatively impacted by a large wedding group.

Never noticed a wedding when there, but that was pre-Covid and only stayed twice (enough for us). Definitley it was not something like Alila Villas Uluwatu (Bali) where guests can get even kicked out for Wedding buyouts or so.

There was a wedding in May 2022 during our stay. Some TV-stars (never heard of them before) got married and they closed the area around the Barefoot restaurant. However it was fine for us as we had a beach villa and could see the wedding from our private pool.

Yes, I had Alila Uluwatu in my mind when I made the post

I struggle to understand why there is hardly any reward availability at this hotel. I expect it may be limited but basically nothing until the master week rolls into inventory?

Detailed review of my stay

What is your IHG One Rewards status?
Diamond Royal Ambassador Inner Circle

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, I loved the property for its atmosphere, location in a secluded area in the middle of the nature, attentive service,
interior design, quality of service and incredible club lounge.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest rate, and was upgraded to 1 King Club Suite Panoramic Ocean view.

How are the rooms?
Around 83sqm large
Very elegant interior design and excellent lighting.

Large bedroom with very comfortable bed.
Sockets next to the bed.

Desk
Seating area

Large balcony all around the villa with superb panoramic view.

Large closets
Television screen with large selection international channels.

Large bathroom with massive bathtub and separate walk-in shower.
Acqua di Parma toiletries.

No Chromecast
Free PressReader

Expresso machine.

How is the exec. lounge?
Simply superb: very elegant design and one of the very best Club InterContinental in the world for food and drinks options.

Very pleasant for the view and g
reat staff.
Very impressed by the quality of service.

Dining area.
Seating area
Meeting room.

What was good and what was bad?

GOOD
- Very attentive and smiling service
- Great club lounge
- Superb view from the hotel

- Very comfortable suite
- Superb view from the room
- Very nice fitness centre
- Pleasant outdoor pool and beach area
- I was offered both points and welcome drinks voucher.
- Fabulous dining option, including Pierre Gagnaires La Maison restaurant.
- I really appreciate the fact that the hotel is offering to take part in the programme to help local children escape poverty.
- The hotel has its own lounge at Danang airport, with great service.

BAD
- Nothing.

Value for $ or IHG One Rewards Points? Would you return?
The hotel is quite unique for the atmosphere, quality of service and design by architect Bill Bensley.
The resort is built on the side of the mountain, in the middle of the forest.
The architecture blends subtly with nature.
Each villa enjoys total privacy.
To get to the beach, the club lounge and the various restaurants, you can either walk, take a buggy (impressively fast service) or the charming cable car.
The property is definitely not cheap (even more expensive than Regent Phu Quoc), but definitely worth it, especially as a Royal Ambassador member

Choices !

Thank you for posting this ....

After
demue informed that the combo BR AMS - BKK with onwards Thai Vietjet to Phu Quoc is an "experience"
I am leaning more favourable for SQ AMS - SIN - DAD

It's been prepandemic since we visited Vietnam :
for the impressive ruins & towers of the Kingdom Champa, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champa
the impressive Marble mountains: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marble_Mountains_(Vietnam)
and the imperial masolea + palace of Hue.https://vietnam.travel/things-to-do/...uide-hue-tombs
@nicolas75 did you have any chance to visit the new Lady Buddha close to IC DAD ?
Lady Buddha Da Nang

On the way to the hotel, you pass the giant Lady Buddha Da Nang.

But I didn't visit it.
I must confess that the resort is so fabulous that you don't want to leave.

Superb photos Nicholas. Nice to see they keeping standards high. And another example of super generous upgrades here. We booked basic and got the large raised corner unit directly opposite the walk out from 1888. Was an exceptional location and product all round. And this was in the time of FOC mini bar .... two mini bars infact and a wine cave ... which was fully put to the test Is just a shame the water is so bloody cold there.
