Most important points to consider for a valid BRG:

1. The comparison website MUST bill in the same currency as the hotel .

2. The cancellation terms must be equal or better, than the terms by the hotels.

3. The Website needs to provide INSTANT confirmation.

4. The room names should match, but if you can demonstrate, that the room is comparable, it will also work with discrepancies in the name.

5. The price difference has to be more than either USD 1 or 1% (whichever is higher).
5.b In regards to hotels located in australia and New Zealand the price difference must be greater than 3% .

Hotels for which you will get reimbursed:
(Note: There have been significant problems with getting full reimbursements from IHG, especially for reimbursements in other currencies than USD)

IC Istanbul ( BRG claim from the 17.05.2013/ "Technical Difficulties")

IC Frankfurt ( BRG claim from the 20.08.2013/ "Technical Difficulties")

Wow this os stupid

1) denied because the room type they checked was neither the one I booked nor the one I contested

2) Denied because they claim I made my booking with a travel agent (?), which is just a blatant lie and they wouldve seen it if they just looked at the confirmation number.

I see you guys werent kidding about the "stalling/playing stupid until the competing rate goes up"... I'll keep trying til then sigh

yes, lol.

First time denied because they checked the wrong room

Second time denied because they claimed I booked with a travel agent (... what, the confirmation number from IHG was right there)

Third time approved lol

Early last week it took them about 20h to respond to my claim, then on Saturday it took them literally one hour. So... anything between that or so. :P

I just made my first claim with IHG !!

-Intercontinental Buenos aires
-2/1/16 for 1 night
-ihg.com price 181usd prepaid
-getaroom.com price 165usd prepaid but cancellable
-same room type on both websites

I didn't want to risk getting stuck with a prepaid ihg.com rate and not getting the claim approved so I made a cancellable reservation on their website in order to fill the claim. Could this be a problem??
