Most important points to consider for a valid BRG:
1. The comparison website MUST bill in the same currency as the hotel .
2. The cancellation terms must be equal or better, than the terms by the hotels.
3. The Website needs to provide INSTANT confirmation.
4. The room names should match, but if you can demonstrate, that the room is comparable, it will also work with discrepancies in the name.
5. The price difference has to be more than either USD 1 or 1% (whichever is higher).
5.b In regards to hotels located in australia and New Zealand the price difference must be greater than 3% .
Hotels for which you will get reimbursed:
(Note: There have been significant problems with getting full reimbursements from IHG, especially for reimbursements in other currencies than USD)
IC Istanbul ( BRG claim from the 17.05.2013/ "Technical Difficulties")
IC Frankfurt ( BRG claim from the 20.08.2013/ "Technical Difficulties")

I made refundable reservations for this Friday (tomorrow) and sent a BRG claim through their website this morning. I haven't received a response from IHG over 12 hours.
Should I cancel the reservations? Please advise.
I do have a screenshot of the competitor's price. And yes, I followed the rules on the WIKI thread as well.

Hi all! Long time reader but first time poster. I hope all of you can help me with some advice I need.
BRG was approved for a hotel in my travel partners name. Hotel I assume did not approve the free room so IHG is sending me a check. The issue at hand is that I want to pay for the hotel room with my CC(diff name, address etc) because my CC has no Foreign transaction fees(hers does) and I want the points. I have asked IHG numerous times does the primary name on the reservation and check being sent have to match the payment method and name on the CC in order to keep the brg valid and they have not given me a straight yes or no answer. Personally I can't see it being an issue as long as the final folio says its paid. I don't think it would show the credit card name on the bill. Can anyone confirm or deny if the bill would show that. Do you think I should have my friend pay it to be on the safe side or I should be ok?
Thanks in advance

I've had my additional guest pay for the stay and I still got the reimbursement. But I only done it once and it was ok.

Holiday Inn Aruba
I booked a trip to Aruba 8/3 to 8/8, heading back 8/8 but was tempted to extend the stay an extra day and started looking up Holiday Inn Resort Aruba prices again....
I'm noticing the NON-REFUNDABLE rate for Friday 8/8 is $175 (flexible/refundable rate is $169) on IHG's site.
Kayak search shows a few sites with the NON-REFUNDABLE rate of $144.
I haven't tried a BRG yet, but does anyone think this would have been honored? Unfortunately had to vote against extending the stay, so I won't get a chance to try this BRG....
Rooms were going for $145 nonrefundable for all of 8/3-8/7, so perhaps it's a temporary glitch that $175 is coming up.... ?

I had this issue a few weeks ago. It was cancellable up until 4 pm on the day so i was planning on waiting until about 3.30 before cancelling. I got the confirmation at about 1 pm, which was around 30 hours after i submitted the claim.
They seem to betaking the full 24 hours to respond at the moment, you should be ok.

IHG said they would respond in 24hrs to my BRG claim, it has been over 24hrs. When do I contact them? Thanks.

Anyone ever had an issue getting a check after a BRG stay at the Singapore Intercontinental or Bali InterContinental?

If I haven't had a response after 24hrs I normally email them, and then they invariably respond within a few hours. I had to wait 48hrs for my latest claim to be accepted though.

Thoughts please,
A simple scenario.
You find a rate for a room for £200 book it as a flex rate as there is no advanced rates left. Few hours later the hotel drops the rate to £100. The major OTAs track IHGs changed rate. Would a brg be successful technically. I'm 99% sure it will though.
