Most important points to consider for a valid BRG:
1. The comparison website MUST bill in the same currency as the hotel .
2. The cancellation terms must be equal or better, than the terms by the hotels.
3. The Website needs to provide INSTANT confirmation.
4. The room names should match, but if you can demonstrate, that the room is comparable, it will also work with discrepancies in the name.
5. The price difference has to be more than either USD 1 or 1% (whichever is higher).
5.b In regards to hotels located in australia and New Zealand the price difference must be greater than 3% .
Hotels for which you will get reimbursed:
(Note: There have been significant problems with getting full reimbursements from IHG, especially for reimbursements in other currencies than USD)
IC Istanbul ( BRG claim from the 17.05.2013/ "Technical Difficulties")
IC Frankfurt ( BRG claim from the 20.08.2013/ "Technical Difficulties")

Have booked with Hotelopia on multiple occasions on the UK website, usually billed in sterling. They usually have a staggered cancellation policy but are definitely legit

Why guess, look in their terms and conditions if you can't see the specific requirement ring them or email them

Hotelopia is a bonafide company - Hotelopia is part of TUI Travel PLC.
The question about them is whether IHG class their confirmation as "instant"
http://www.hotelopia.com/info/faq.aspx#faq_08
i think - 'yes'
can anyone confirm successful usage of this site brg

Is it possible to check-in at noon, then check-out 5-8 hours later without staying overnight or is it violating the T&C of IHG or the BRG?

Only question is if your chosen hotel is a 12noon checkin, some are 2pm or as late as 3pm for checkin.
o book room for one or more nights
o attend hotel to check in at reception
o leave hotel (does not matter if use room or not)
o Let hotel auto check you out the next day at 12noon (or at end of longer stay)

haven't gotten a single brg success, would some of you experts please weigh in on this?
am thinking of filing a claim:
IHG has a room (same type) for 508/night non refundable while another site has it for 508 night refundable till 5/22 - any chance of this getting approved (the other site is NOT amoma)
Next possible scenario same property - IHG has a refundable room for 529/night competitors site has the refundable rate at 508/night BUT the cancellation policies differ by one day.
I am guessing the first option is the best one?

And even if the refundable rate were 529/night, if the cancelation policy differ (mostly if it is worse on the third party site), you won't have a BRG.

2 of my recent claims have gone unanswered, and each time when I followed up, IHG said they have not received the claim I submitted through the form. Not sure what went wrong exactly.

So are people mainly matching non best-flex rates these days, or are they waiting till the last minute for best-flex=advance purchase?
Also, how is room type matching these days? For a hotel I'm looking at, the lowest room on IHG is "Deluxe", whereas other sites just have "Standard Room" or "Room" as the description.

Hi all,
Which sites are you using for Singapore? I'm not too familiar with the market.

hm interesting, the deluxe rate is showing up sometimes, but only if I directly link into the hotels page on that OTA. Any other way and it doesn't show up. These OTAs are sure sneaky.
