Most important points to consider for a valid BRG:
1. The comparison website MUST bill in the same currency as the hotel .
2. The cancellation terms must be equal or better, than the terms by the hotels.
3. The Website needs to provide INSTANT confirmation.
4. The room names should match, but if you can demonstrate, that the room is comparable, it will also work with discrepancies in the name.
5. The price difference has to be more than either USD 1 or 1% (whichever is higher).
5.b In regards to hotels located in australia and New Zealand the price difference must be greater than 3% .
Hotels for which you will get reimbursed:
(Note: There have been significant problems with getting full reimbursements from IHG, especially for reimbursements in other currencies than USD)

I used to love HI BRG before they got rid of the phoning in for BRG. I used to get instant confirmation yes or no. Now we have to wait upto three business days? That is nuts. Then have to match exactly including cancellation times? More nuts. However, everything has lined up and I actually found a hotel everything being the same and submitted the BRG. Hopefully, it will not take the full three business days for them to look it up as the lower price will probably be gone by then.
My question is seriously?? Does it actually take three business days for them to respond?

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but if you have a BRG on a prepaid rate and they charge your credit card in advance, the credit card you booked the room with must be valid at the time of your stay. For all you credit card churners, make sure to put prepaid BRG's on a card you plan to have at least until the stay. Evidently, this forfeits the BRG if you do not have the credit card that the reservation was made with when you show up for your stay.
We are currently reviewing this matter to the hotel since your claim was initially tagged as valid upon verification. Since your reservation was booked under a Book Early and Save rate which is prepaid, the charge takes place between the time of booking and the arrival date. Please be reminded that the credit card on file should be approved when the hotel attempts to make the charge. In the event of a failure transaction or declined credit card, the free night and rate adjustment will no longer be honored pursuant to the Best Price Guarantee Terms & Conditions.

DISHONOURED RESERVATIONSIn the event an overbooking occurs due to an unforeseen stay over or any other circumstance, and a room is not available to aguest holding a reservation (prior to 16.00h), or a guaranteed reservation, the hotel must do the following:The Guest Service Manager or MOD must meet with the guest and: Explain the circumstance and reason for the situation (i.e. guest staying over). Apologise to the guest and explain what will be done. The hotel must arrange and pay for the first nights accommodations at another InterContinental Hotels Group hotel if available, or at another comparable and convenient lodging facility. The hotel also must reimburse the guest for any reasonable expenses incurred by reason of the change, including transportationand the cost of telephone calls to notify family. For 16.00h reservations, the hotel must reimburse the guest for the difference, if any, in the first night's lodging rate, plus tax ifthe guest arrives by 16.00h. For Guaranteed All Night Reservations, the hotel must pay the full cost of the first night's lodging rate, plus tax, at another InterContinental Hotels Group hotel or at another convenient and comparable hotel. If the guest has paid an advance deposit, this must be refunded to the guest in addition to the payments described above. If the guest is still not satisfied, the hotel is responsible for taking additional necessary measures to satisfy the guest, including but not limited to a free return stay at their hotel, etc. If a hotel does not deliver the guaranteed reserved and confirmed smoking/non smoking preference, the hotel must provide the guest with their first nights stay free (room only).The General Manager/MOD is required to personally contact the guest that night or the following morning by phone. They must: Apologise for the situation, and inquire into the guests satisfaction with the alternative accommodations.For groups, a "walked room" (when a guest must be re-accommodated in another hotel) must count toward their contracted complimentary room policy (e.g., "one complimentary room for every 50 rooms occupied", etc.).Guest complaints are investigated and if the hotel is found to have not complied with these standards it will result in loss of CQI Guest Relations points.

2.. Since booking is confirmed, AND worse CC used to prepay room, IC Turkey must walk you to an equivalent local hotel, to a room type you would have received at IC, eg if Ambassador/RA alternate hotel room should be upgraded
3. The fact that room reservation is a BRG does not excempt hotel from following rules, whilst they can email and say they are full, they must offer alternative hotel+room, which you can accept or reject.
4. If inferior hotel+room combo, offered escalate to IHG

I have found out what the problem is (with no help from IHG). The message system cannot cope with a '%' character in the message box. Something to do with Java encoding.
