Interlining
I know there is a lot of info out there on this but what is the latest status of European carriers on interlining (specifically baggage) on their own metal? J Award flight across the pond, but book the positioning flight separately on the SAME carrier. BA, LH, LX, TK, AF, etc.
Thanks! EDIT: inquiry for both ways (if it would even be different) specifically on baggage through-check. Long-haul award from US to Europe and then a separate flight on same airline to final destination. Also on the return, positioning flight, and then separate ticket with same airline long-haul back to US. |
What are you asking about? Through-checking of baggage? Protection in the case of IROPS? Something else?
In any event, since the answers will be specific to each individual carrier, it's probably best to post inquiries in each carrier's sub-forum. |
Just baggage through-check. But will post in the sub-forums. Thanks!

When crossing an international border can be differences in country's requirement for customs to inspect/check bags. Immigration is different. |

https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...7047717ac1.png Also note that when returning from Europe via the U.K. or France, if your TATL Business Class flight is ticketed separately from your intra-European flight, you will be subject to the hefty U.K. APD or French luxury tax. You can avoid those if you have a true "connection" in those countries. |
