Looking at flight options for BTU - FOC , ITA Matrix / Google Flight gives plenty of suggestions but not the most direct / shortest being :

MH BTU - KUL
MF KUL - FOC

This is the only combination that has 1 stop, but it does not come up on ITA Matrix or Google Flights which give a 2 stop option at best. However when searching individually these flights show up.

I've tried tinkering with the setting on ITA Matrix but cannot reproduce the above route in a single booking. I've been relying on these 2 website to search for the best routing so was wondering if there are alternative or is there something I should be doing ? ie looking at all the airlines that service a particular airport .... or just searching from hub airport and determine my own feeder to get there.

no, the shortest connection is still 13hours. Arrive KUL by 2200 and depart KUL at 1020 next day

I can find it on GF, no problem.

Thanks ! I tried Oct 13 on GF and indeed the results are the same as yours. However ITA Matrix does not show this flight for the same date.





I also tried looking for dates in August / Sept on GF but again showing flights that is not the most direct / shortest. ie no BTU - KUL - FOC
