I'm missing a leg.
Hi
I want to cancel the last leg of a 3-leg flight. The last leg is after a 24hr stopover so I will have my luggage. The airline said I to cancel the last leg (which is a cheap r5min flight), it's actually a reissue and will cost me $1000. Not worth it. I understand if I no-show for the 3rd leg, my return flight home a few weeks later will be canceled. But what if I advise them on the day of the 3rd leg, I ring and say I can't make it. Let's say I am sick and unable to fly. Would an airline normally honor that and not cancel my return home flight? Much appreciated for your thoughts. EurovisionFlyer |
Yes, the return portion typically would be forfeited by skipping a leg.

Welcome to FT
The problem is that when you call to explain that you can't make it to the flight, the agent will most likely also insist to rebook and reprice the ticket. Its is worth a try but be prepared that it may not work and you have to pay for rebooking the ticket. Any chance that you can wait for a schedule change or cancellation of the flight in question ? (which will allow you to ask the airline to remove that leg from the itinerary). If you just no-show for the flight most likely your return flight will be cancelled. |
