Feedback welcome - SFO to Australia on J

Hi all,

Would like to hear any feedback or tips for my award redemption. Booked one way from SFO -> HKG -> MEL for 85k Cathay Pacific points plus $400 in taxes in business.

UA in J was ~200k one way.
Aeroplan via YVR was similar.
Qantas was 1 million points lmao.

I have 500k MR, 500k UR, and 200K AS points.

Would love to hear any feedback or tips on how I could/ could have improved this. Thanks!

Heck, that looks pretty good and I doubt that many of us could've done better given availability. CX J is a pretty good product (I haven't flown them post-COVID so YMMV) and the routing is fairly direct bar a UA/QF non-stop SFO-MEL.

Have fun on the trip!

Thank you so much! Appreciate it!

Will try to search for cheaper UA/QF closer in. Hoping for some availability.

IIRC - there is no nonstop SFO-MEL for both UA/QF. So a stop will be required (UA - LAX, QF - SYD). It is only a matter of where you want to stop.

Thanks for pointing that out, much appreciated. I was actually hoping to go direct to SYD, but MEL was my 2nd choice.

So hoping I'll be able to get QF in J!
