TSA PreCheck
Can I apply my TSA Precheck Known Traveler Number to my Delta ticket after I have purchased them (but obviously before obtaining a boarding pass). I used to have precheck, obtained as a government employee. My Known Traveler Number was my CAC number on the back of my government ID card. I have since retired, so my CAC is no longer valid. I checked and it appeared that my TSA precheck KTN was also no longer valid. So I applied for a new one, as a civilian. It is still being processed. Can I go ahead and purchase tickets now for a flight in a month or two, then add the KTN information to them after it is complete? If so, how would I do that?... Just by calling Delta customer service? Thanks.

I do the updating of the reservation’s KTN online on Delta.com, but it can also be done by calling the airline. I have even done it at the check-in counter. |

I am bumping an old thread but I’m wondering best process for getting minor child TSA Pre if Global Entry location is too far and you cannot do Global interview for minor on international arrival? I’m seeing Clear, IDEMIA, type programs but I just need TSA Pre for now.

TSA PreCheck allows teens to join parents in faster security line Just in time for the official kickoff to the summer travel season, the Transportation Security Administration announced that passengers ages 13 to 17 can accompany their parents or guardians in the PreCheck line, as long as the family members are traveling with the same reservation. With PreCheck, travelers can wear their shoes, belts and light jackets through the security checkpoint and can leave their laptops and appropriately sized liquids in their carry-on. Children traveling with preapproved parents or guardians can begin using the program immediately, and they don’t need to enroll on their own. The adult family member must attach their “known traveler number” (KTN) to their frequent-flier account or to the booking reservation. Adults cannot piggyback on their spouse’s membership, nor can children traveling alone use the PreCheck lane without their own membership. All boarding passes — electronic or paper — must feature the PreCheck symbol. If you don’t see it, go back into the reservation and add the number or, at the airport, ask an airline agent for assistance. |
